Mikee B, 26 Apr 2010What Rom is your phone running on, also did you install any applications that involve the lock... moreThanks for your attention. Fortunately, I was able to solve the problem with the help from the XDA Community.
The issue was in BSB Tweaks Software. I had to disable the option "Tap Time" under the General Section. Once this was done, and I soft reset all worked ok again.
Hmmm.. is it possible to load Android OS on the HD2? I googled, asked around but nothing solid, all I keep getting are links to creepy looking websites.. Would apperciate a definite answer.
Android needs to make a business / pro phone with
dual sim & dual standby - gsm + gsm 3 / 4 g
qwerty slide out (must have the option of physical / digital screen if the phisical screen is not opened in landscape)
stylus input also
4.3 super amoled screen

Recently I am unable to activate my keypad during a call. this means I cannot check my voice mail, as I cannot enter the security code. Also, I have to use the physical key to end the call.
Can someone advice what is necessary to rectify this (hopefully I don't have to hard reset)?
High Tech, 26 Apr 2010Finally settled on a ROM (Energy Standard).. Was using Energy w/Cookie, but didn't like to ins... more:)
Even if WP7 is released today, this phone will not be obsolete.
The HD2 is a good bet for the next 2 years, and it is for the "connaisseurs" only.
Until then, there will be better phones than HD3 (e.g. HD4 or REAL Omnia XL?/non-Symbian). That would be the great time to update the HD2.
Finally settled on a ROM (Energy Standard).. Was using Energy w/Cookie, but didn't like to install new ROM everytime Cookie released a new version. With the standard ver. I installed Cookie app so if a new release comes I can just uninstall the old, and not a new ROM (too time consuming)..
So far the ROM is nice. I've since cust it to the way I had it with the Miri ROM. Battery life is good (lose about 5-6% per hour in stand by).. Which is okay. I don't use my phone alot on a daily basis. Some days I use more, just depends??
Looks like HTC will release HD3 with WP7 (Which I don't care for).. I hope they get smart and release a WM6.5.X version of the phone (just wishing).... I'll keep my HD2 for a couple of years looks like.. I just don't want to buy a phone where U cannot change the Battery if U need to.. That what turned me away from the iPhone (and the locked down UI)..
Besides the HD2 does everything I need a phone to do.......
bj, 25 Apr 2010is there any other way to extend the battery life of my hd2??? is it because of the snap drago... moreCharge the phone whenever it is possible (e.g. buy a car charger & extra charger cable for office/work use).
bj, 25 Apr 2010is there any other way to extend the battery life of my hd2??? is it because of the snap drago... moreI set backlight to 20% on battery.
Adjust auto-turn off screen to 1 to 2 minutes.
Disable any vibration mode if possible & when not needed (e.g. phone keypad).
Adjust the sound volume to suit your need (not to max, obviously).
No automatic data connection if possible (e.g. weather update & e-mails). Do it manually when needed.
karen, 25 Apr 2010hi , so u mean dont install v 1.7 ? just install v 1.7.1 ?so u mean dont install v 1.7 ? just install v 1.7.1
What Anthony is saying is 1.6 is now upgraded with a few more features, they first upgraded with 1.7 but had a small error but so they fixed it & put out 1.7.1 all fixed, so download 1.7.1 only & the same version CHT edit 1.7.1 if you want that cab too. You can only gain from these to cabs.
If you have lots of shortcut links be sure to back them up but you will need CHT edit 1.6 first if you didnt have it before, that will give you the option to export your settings in the menu :o)
bj, 25 Apr 2010is there any other way to extend the battery life of my hd2??? is it because of the snap drago... moreHi Bj,
One of the main battery drainers is the big screen so always switch it off to sleep mode when your not using it. Also you should have the backlight setting on Auto, you can check via > Setting > Sound & Display > Backlight > Auto adjust backlight box should be ticked. You could also un-tick it & manually lower the screen brightness.
Failing that you could always get a cheap backup batt from e-bay. :o)
is there any other way to extend the battery life of my hd2??? is it because of the snap dragon that is why the battery drains so fast??? someone suggested to turn off sense ui... come on that is why this phone stands out among the other winmo 6.5 phones right because of the htc sense ui and 1 ghz processor. ammm by the way my phone is just 1 week old and im aware of the charging cycles but that was not the case with my blackstone... that phone was really impressive in terms of battery life... any tips guys??? thanks a lot
