James, 27 Jan 2010does anyone know how to change the tomezone on this phone? mine is stuck on hong... moreThere are 2 main way to change the time zone.
1. Tap the big clock on the home screen. Then tap on the circle next to “My Location”. The GPS and internet will take over and set the time zone, time, date and weather.
2. Tap the big clock on the home screen. Then tap the “+” next to “Add City”. Type the name of the city in the “search location” tap on the city you want. Then tap the circle next to the city name.
The first one is better if you travel between cities allot. So you can get the weather for where you are at that time.

I love the phone but the only problems I'm having is my text messages stay in the outbox & don't get sent. I've got a hold of HTC & they said they should have a fix by the end of the month. The other problem is battery life waiting now for the extended life battery.

So far, I've owned an HD2 for a day, looks and feels AWESOME...only problem is the battery life...but again, with the soon to ship extended battery this will not be an issue.
this phone is the best of all and no problem at all.
Amin, 26 Jan 2010dear owners,
plz share ur expriences with the phone.any let downs?
tnxOnly problem I've had, an it's a major one as it's still ongoing despite havng owned this phone for 3mths now, is that my music player crashes every time I try to play music.
Apart from that the phone is fantastic. I had no SMS or "pink spot" camera issues, CorePlayer works a treat and runs DivX clips from my 16gb micro SDHC, easy to send/receive e-mails, I spend more time broswing the internet now on my HD2 than my laptop or desktop PC...
I'm going to buy a car-mount so I can use it as a SatNav. If only it could play my MP3s tooo...
:(
Anthony, 23 Jan 2010I remember you :-)
you hand that one problem a long time now.
there is only one thing left ... moreHi Anthony,
I'll e-mail both O2 and HTC to see if I need O2's okay before installing the new UK ROM. That said, I can't believe no one else seems to have posted messages regarding faults with the HTC music player...
BTW, if there are any other O2 HD2 owners out there who have downloaded the new UK ROM post a message on here and let us all know how you got on. Thanks
:)
dear owners,
plz share ur expriences with the phone.any let downs?
tnx

This phone lacks only one thing...the operating system... Win mobile (how hard Microsoft tries to make it feel and look good) never will be a good choice for the phone (or the PC).
I am feeling a little bit jealous of the U.S. version of the HD2.

In other news, it seems that "AUDIO BOOST" is acting up. If I turn it on, it stays on for the duration of whatever song was playing when I turned it on. By the 3rd song, if I go into the menu, it will say that it's "ON" but if I turn it off, there is no audio difference...and then if I press "ON" once again, you notice the difference.
Is this known to happen to anyone else? If so, is there a fix/remedy?
I've also noticed that if I set my Alarm Clock from the phone to ring at a certain time, it will not obey said commands until ALL DAYS OF THE WEEK starting from Monday all the way to Sunday are highlighted and marked. Most people do a Mon - Fri type of setup, and as such the alarm will not go off...but I'm going to look into this issue further and keep you all posted. Let me know if anyone has encountered this problem/issue as well.
I want to buy this phone but the only thing stopping me is the colors.
How does it do with watching DIVX movies? Can you tell that its only 65k colors?

High Tech, 26 Jan 2010Here is what the HD3 might be. If true this will be my next phone: We all know that the lin... moreyeah rite ... fat hopes on HD3. First try to get HD2 to work well, still cannot resolve sms problems and camera issue. Whats the point of having 1GHz chipset and 4.3 inch screen when u can't do the basics. Sound quality is also horrible. Do yourself a favour, go get the SE X2, its awesome. even with same hw as X1, it delivers as a phone and a pda!
Here is what the HD3 might be. If true this will be my next phone:
We all know that the line between smartphones and portable computers is getting thinner and thinner with every new release of a more powerful handset, yet it seems that HTC might actually make that line totally disappear with the release of HD2's successor, none other than the HD3. This device is expected to arrive on the market sometime in November 2010, while running under Microsoft's yet unreleased Windows Mobile 7, and including some specifications that about one year ago were suitable for a netbook.
The specs on HTC HD3 arrived into the wild via QQ.com, and the guys over at pocketnow say that they might actually have some chances of proving real in the end. That November release date and the Windows Mobile 7 OS on board are among the specs that seem feasible, and one should agree that the same applies to a 1GB of RAM and ROM the device is said to arrive with, or to the 16GB of additional onboard storage that it might feature.
Given the WM 7 OS and what we already know on it, one should expect the phone to arrive with enhanced hardware capabilities, that's for sure. Thus, the inclusion of a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with it might also sound plausible, even if the processor was said to arrive in devices only in 2011. Also at the thin line between reality and exaggeration is the 4.5-inch dimension of the screen (HD2 has a 4.3-inch one, large enough already). As for connectivity options, we can count Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, as well as support for WiMAX and Wi-Fi.
Other specifications of the device further include a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution for the display, which should also come with support for 16 million colors and with multi-touch capabilities, an 8.0-megapixel photo snapper with Xenon flash, and a 1800mAh battery inside, so as to have enough power to fuel the speedy processor. HDMI, USB 2.0, and 3.5mm ports are said to be there as well, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
For the time being, we'll take this with a big grain of salt, but that does not stop us from hoping that the rumor might pan out in the end.
