where can I find the registry editor in HD2 ?
any1 face wifi problem where it's so difficult to get a stable connection.....
ProjectCM3, 23 Jan 2010Hey Anthony, I'm going to go visit the S'bucks in a little bit and try to download the ROM lik... moreAll programs can be downloaded from phone or PC.
If it is a .cab put the file on the memory card and install from there.
If it is .msi file you must install it from the PC with the phone connected in sync mode.
If it is .exe some are done from the phone and older ones from the PC in sync mode. So you will have to try and see.
Dr. Firaz, 23 Jan 2010Could any one please confirm whats the max storage capacity of memory card that can be used wi... morethe largest micro SD on the market right now is 16gb (I have this and it works great) the phone says it can support more but without a actual card no one can test to see if it is true or not.
when you see a bigger micro SD for sale online, let me know the link and I will buy it. more storage is always a good thing for me.
ProjectCM3, 23 Jan 2010Hey Anthony, I'm going to go visit the S'bucks in a little bit and try to download the ROM lik... moreOk I'll take them one at a time.
The link I gave you to the ROM is the official ROM from htc. Just look at the author. A cooked ROM does not have htc as the author (look at a ROM on page 1 for example)
When you do the change it will be like if you purchased the phone U.K. unlock. So any thing you want for it from htc after the change will be from the U.K. batch including ROM updates.
ROM update from the htc U.K. site will install like you have a U.K. phone. But to download the ROM you will need a serial number from a U.K. factory unlocked phone to get permission to do the download (only ROM downloads are like that). (that is why I asked if you new someone with a English unlocked one, to ask them to let you us there serial number to download the U.K. ROM from htc.)
It is the same ROM as htcpedia just they don't require s/n to give you access. So with out a s/n you will always have to get your ROM there. But the hack to change language you only have to do once. (or when you are ready to try cooked ROM's)
So make a friend fast if you want a s/n :-)
Could any one please confirm whats the max storage capacity of memory card that can be used with HD2?
Anthony, 22 Jan 2010no problemHey Anthony, I'm going to go visit the S'bucks in a little bit and try to download the ROM like we talked about.
I was wondering about something though: Say the SSPL and new ROM install successfully, after that can I install the official ROMS from the htc website or do I only have to stick to these custom ROMcooked ROMS?
Also, my laptop lamp has just burned out, so I'm using a flashlight to illuminate my screen...and I'm getting bored so I figured I'd transfer some movies onto the HD2, but it doesn't seem to work. Do I need CorePlayer for it to work? If so, where can I find one to download? I've tried searching, but all I get are copies and immitations.
Also, say I find a game/program/etc. online for my HD2...how do I install it to my device? Do I have to download it via computer/laptop first, then run ActiveSync/Run on my laptop to my phone, or do I try to download it directly from the phone, onto the phone...?
Something I noticed on my HD 2 is that I can only cycle through my music tracks while in Landscape mode, and not in Portrait mode...is that normal? (it doesn't feel normal)
Another thing I noticed, is that when I transffered some music from my laptop to my HD2 via Active Sync and Windows Media Player, the HD2 actually went and connected itself online via my laptop's wifi connection...AND DOWNLOADED CORRECT NAMING FORMAT AND ALBUM ART...which totally impressed me. Just to verify, this happends to you too, right?
Ok, that's it for now. Sorry for the massive post! Let me know what you think.
Mark, 23 Jan 2010Hi all, well... sorry to say that as much as I love my HD2, the HTC music player is still play... moreFollow up re my last post - HTC have e-mailed to advise the problem could either be a fault with my class 2 16b Micro SDHC card or the phone's hardware. If it's the latter, they'ved suggested I send the handset to them for repairs... Has anyone else had this problem too?
PS - they also suggested installing the new ROM, but 02 have yet to give me the okay in that respect
Anthony, 22 Jan 2010Do you know anyone with this phone that has an English version that was bought factory unlocked? yes i have the phone english and factory unlocked
just flashed my device with rom 1.66 wwe.
overall, the phone seems zippier, especially sence. the touchscreen is more accurate (especially with keyboard). music is quicker. i cant confirm that the sms bug is fixed because i never experienced it to begin with. the only thing that bugs me is that theres a button on the keyboard with a script (i guess its whatever language there is in singapore) but when u click it u still have english characters (suggested). when u start typing u get singaporan characters. im guessing u type in english characters phonetically and get whatever u need in singaporan. thats kinda cool, hope they do that with an arabic rom soon.
for example if i type my name, khalil
the result is: 可哈利了 wierd huh?
also opera seems more responsive, especially typing. in 1.43 opera tends to "forget" to scroll sometimes. now its smooth.
lovin this rom, hope they release a middle east / north africa wwe soon!
Hi all, well... sorry to say that as much as I love my HD2, the HTC music player is still playing up despite all efforts to resolve the audio manager_exe fault that keeps reoccuring.
I'm running the 1.43 ROM installed by 02 and have downloaded all the recent patch files on the UK HTC website (excluding the ROM upgrade, as 02 have yet to advise if I can do this - grrrr!)
I've removed and reinstalled all my apps, one-by-one, to see if they were to blame but to no avail. I've also followed the instructions on the attached page as suggested by MaxReality, but this doesn't work either:
In the end I've e-mailed both 02 and HTC; 02 can't help as the problem is "too techie" and HTC have yet to reply... any suggestions from other fellow HD2 owners as to how I can fix this problem..?
Anonymous, 23 Jan 2010This phone has lots of problems despite its nice big screen : SMS doesn't get sent, calls can'... moreI don't know what phone U have, but my HD2 is working GREAT.....I don't have any of the problems U are having....If you're having those problems U need to send it in to HTC for repair or replacement......As I said mine and others are working just FINE.......It's always the anonymous people who say their HD2 is not working or is a bad phone. Makes me wonder if they have the HD2 or not (just trying to talk bad about the HD2. To make it look bad, when they know it's the BEST on the market right NOW.......)
Anonymous, 23 Jan 2010camera quality, or rather picture quality, in actual isn't as great as what the specs says esp... morePeople. This is a phone first, not a camera first. A mobile phone is not intended to be a great camera. The camera was added to give you the convience to take a picture while on the go, and to send to people, etc. Not to be a pro camera. If you want that, buy a camera. Which is the function to take pro photo's. My HD2 takes decent photo's......It's what I would expect from a mobile phone............
cobra, 23 Jan 2010how to i get the solfwere A-GPS? any person can tell me? i don want to any purcaseh. ?? what you want to do with agps when you have built in gps?
Anonymous, 23 Jan 2010This phone has lots of problems despite its nice big screen : SMS doesn't get sent, calls can'... morethis phone dose not have xenon flash because you can't use that kind of flash to record video. and if you took the led flash off of auto and put it on fill, you would get a better shot in low or no light areas.
Anthony, 22 Jan 2010Do you know anyone with this phone that has an English version that was bought factory unlocked? how to i get the solfwere A-GPS? any person can tell me? i don want to any purcaseh.
Jay, 21 Jan 2010Now is been 10 days I am using HD2, experience is very intriguing. Screen Size, touch interfac... morecamera quality, or rather picture quality, in actual isn't as great as what the specs says esp in dark condition. Probably due to its poor dual LED performance....
This phone has lots of problems despite its nice big screen : SMS doesn't get sent, calls can't be made during roaming, missing calls, etc. Not to mention the ugly camera protruding out and the ugly dual LED they put in. Pls learn from Nokia and SE and design a good-looking camera and.....yes....replace those useles dual LED with a xenon flash !!!
I'm from Sweden and I've had my HTC HD2 for more than one month now.
Do you know there was a special forum dedicated for our beloved phones, yes, it's http://www.HTCHD2Forum.com.
The HTC Hd2 is my third HTC device and man it's great! I knew it had twice the clock speed compared to my Diamond but could never imagine the difference to be that huge.
Anyway, I know a little bit about WM and can hopfully help people.
