If I ask them to deliver it to me here in Europe, the total price (inc. VAT and shipping) will be £514 ($830).
To Khalil: I read what you wrote about the customs fee in Dubai, Thanks for your reply!
-First of all, I'm not gonna use the phone in Dubai, I'm going for a visit, so I'll take it when I come back. I'd like to know in case I ask Clove to deliver it to an address in Dubai, am I gonna have to pay customs fee or not (knowing that I'll have it with me when I get back)? Can I ask Dubai customs to pay me back the fee?
-I'm asking all this, because I checked the total price for delivery to Dubai, it's £444 ($715)!!
So can you please confirm what you said regarding customs fee?

A couple of questions:
1/ Does expansys also give a full warranty on its HD2?
2/ Where can I get a working 2D (QR/Datamatrix) code reader for the HD2?

gonna get the car charger (will never find one here), official stylus, bluetooth headset (the htc ones are really cool) and im not sure if ill go for the official car kit. i mean its cool and all but i dont want to change my backcover every time i drive (using a generic car holder is easier no?). also i wouldnt keep it on (the backcover) cause its bu*t-ugly and bulky (i find the slimness of HD2 to be a major advantage thats why ill never get the extended battery).
any ideas for any other accessories?
Blaine, 11 Jan 2010Thanks Anthony for your quick reply!
I'm in the same situation as you. I don't live in UK but... moreYou are in Europe so you should take note that any site you buy from outside of Europe you may have to pay importation tax. Did the price from Plemix take that into consideration? Talk to your local customs and get the info.
I am lucky that computers can be imported into my country with no importation tax fee, and for some reason my both HTC windows mobiles phones were considered PC’s.
Because the normal import tax for cell phones here is 30%. I did not have to pay the UK vat or my local import tax. I just paid for the phone and shipping. :)
Blaine, 11 Jan 2010Thanks Anthony for your quick reply!

Well that is different.
Go to the site drag image of the phone and the accessories you want to the (MyBasket) when you are done click “check out”
Under delivery & Tax pick your country and shipping method you will see your charges. Because I think Europe pays VAT. upfront on this site.
You don’t have to full out any member form to get that info and once you get it, just leave the page if you not ready to buy.

I'm in the same situation as you. I don't live in UK but in Europe. So you say that they aren't gonna charge me VAT (or any other tax money), so all I have to pay is the price and the shipping plus any accessories that I want to have with the phone, right?

it could also be a registry editor or tweak prog ur using. next time u flash ur devce, try to do the same thing before u install anything.

I checked some of the websites listed here for online... morewww.clove.co.uk is an authorized HTC dealer and they will ship the factory unlock version of this phone to you in the US with DHL international for $705.00 (shipping included in that price) with full warranty.
I got both my HD in 2008 and my HD2 Nov 2009 from them.
Because I don’t live in the UK I didn’t have to pay the vat price, so it will be the same for you.
But try it first in Dubai and see if you like it.
Blaine, 11 Jan 2010Hi all, I'm planning to buy this phone. I checked some of the websites listed here for online... moreto be honest sounds good to just go their and try it out anyways. you can always send it back then buy it here.
I'm planning to buy this phone. I checked some of the websites listed here for online order. The price is $903 in Dubai right now and I will be there in 2 weeks. But for example,at Plemix, the total price including the shipping and a 8GB memory card is around $755. I know that the obvious choice is to shop at Plemix and not in Dubai, but I also want to try the phone in my hand before buying. I don't know what to do...
Maybe its better to check out the phone in Dubai first and then buy it online considering the price...I've never bought a phone online, I don't know how it will turn out!

Did demonstrate what makes it the best ever so you can see and know to your self I can’t be beaten?

Ok this is what I’m look for so if any one runs across an app or driver that can let me do this please post the link.
I am a big fan of bluetooth stereo headsets.
That is what I use to listen to music on my phone.
But as you all know the radio can’t work unless you plug in a corded headset.
And when a corded headset is plugged in it takes precedence over the bluetooth headset.
So what I want is a app/driver that will let me manual override where the audio goes so with the corded headset plugged in for the radio to work, I can still tell the sound to go the stereo bluetooth headset.
Anyone that knows a app or driver that would let me do that, please post the link.. It will be greatly appreciated.
I am currently using a G1 and am purchasing a HD2 today! the G1 is great and android is definitely a keeper. Build quality is nowhere near the par of the HD2 though. Android and customisability is great on a similar level with winmo customisation. ANdroid has a far superior market for apps etc and the qwerty keyboard on the G1 is one of the best. it is limited on ahrdware specs and ive near pushed it to max. Im using android 2.0.1 through a custom ROM. very fast. but HD2 is faster. I would definitely go for the HD2.
