> In reply to Kere @ 2012-04-03 23:51 from 9Lq9 - click to readHi people.
I posted here couple weeks ago about my frustration and unpleasant experience with HTD HD2. At first I liked everything with this device, I literally slept with it. It was BIG LOVE until it suddenly started freezing. I got T-Mobile (USA) version of it. Originally it didn't bother me. It started freezing mostly on downloads. Then it started freezing during the call , then on browsing. Believe me it wasn't because of temp files and lack of memory. I hard reset to original OS , didn't install anything , but freezing didn't go away. I disabled everything - geo, sense , wallpapers. No help. I spent tons of my precious time to find out what is the problem, and now I agree with other people freezing is causing by processor overhit. Why I am convinced.? I disassembled my device and immediately saw additional copper pads/patches/shits attached to phone internals . It was definetly added by someone after original assembling. And it looked like not NOT original design. ( I bought my phone from new from T-Mobile ) .
Here the list what I did to phone in order to resolve the problem with freezing:
1. Hard reset.
2. Uninstall many original application that had major impact on memory use
3. Updated to official ROM and Radio.
4. Install custom WinMO ROM . Energy ROM. Liked it over T-Mobile
5. Install Android. Tried AmeriCan ( it's the best for HD2, but Data connection is not working) , CyanogenMod 7 ( it's also very nice, worked everything), ICS ( very slow) , Galaxy's version ( didn't like it all, though everything was working)
But f*cking freezing was still there. So after 2 years with HD2 I put it to rest. Never HTC again.
Now I've been using SE Xperia Arc ( cost me 299.99 USD , brand new) . I was fan of Ericsson phones before. Very nice andorid device. Stable , cute design, lot of apps, and most important , muuuuch better signal reception and muuuch better battery life.
Hope my post will be userful for someone here.

Hi, Anthony. I gave out my HTC HD2 and I am presently about to get a Samsung Galaxy Note. I have always loved wide screen phones. I present use a HP Ipaq 214 running Windows Mobile 6.0 because I can switch between running apps with a single touch.I installed an app WAKU WKTASK which makes this possible. My question is is there no similar app on the android market that allows you to switch app with only ONE TOUCH.I dont like having to do a long press on the home screen and now pressing the icon you want. I am asking cos I know you do a lot of stuff with android on your hd2. thanks

Download this file and keep it on your PC
This along with 7-zip and your 3.14 ROM is needed if ever you decide to put your phone back to its original condition.

> In reply to VBP @ 2012-04-23 20:24 from 2Zj0 - click to readI can’t tell you which is the best ROM because I have not used every ROM made.
I can only give you me give you my personal opinion.
1. I would not install any cooked ROM using ICS because its still fairly new and may be very glitchy on your HD2 for every day use. Gingerbread has bean around a lot longer and would be closer to fully functional.
2. I would look for a ROM with Sense UI because I find Android to be ugly without it. But that is just my liking… take note that the Sense UI is more taxing on your CPU & GPU.
ANSWER TO THE QUESTION SHOULD YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF INSTALLING THE NAND ANDROID ROM OF YOUR CHOICE.
It is always good to follow the instructions of the ROM provider because different NAND Android ROMs have different ways to be installed by MAGLDR but you should understand what you are doing because I can see the instructions of that site are a bit outdated and would need some modification for some one with a 3.14 HTC ROM. also I would use the newer HSPL 3 not 2 and MAGLDR 1.13 not the older 1.11
UNDER STANDING THE PREPARATION TO INSTALL A NAND ANDROID ROM
What you are trying to accomplish is install an unauthorised Android ROM on a Windows mobile phone. So you have to get pass the SPL security that authenticates the ROM and you must install a boot-loader capable of loading Android when the phone turns on. As the boot-loader that is built into your ROM chip is made for windows. In addition you must have the most up-to-date radio version because it has the drivers needed for your hardware to communicate with the software.
1. Getting pass the SPL is done by replacing it with a matching version HSPL
2. The Android boot-loader is MAGLDR (1.13 being the newest version to date.)
3. the most up-to-date radio version for the HD2 is in the 3.14 ROM (version 2.15.50.14) as it is the last ROM made by HTC.
The matching HSPL for the SPL of a 3.14 HTC ROM is HSPL4 but a lot of cooked ROM don’t work well or not at all with HSPL4 so you have to install HSPL 3 that dose not match with your 3.14 ROM.
WHAT TO DO
A. Downgrade your phone to its 1.66.xxx.x ROM which has a SPL that matches with HSPL3.
B. Follow the instructions to install HSPL and install HSPL 3. after confirm that it was installed by checking your windows boot-loader to see if it is no longer saying SPL but now saying HSPL
C. Reinstall the 3.14 ROM so it will upgrade the old radio version in the 1.66 ROM to the newest version in the 3.14 ROM (version 2.15.50.14) Note:- reinstalling a ROM the normal way will not remove HSPL
D. Follow the instruction to install MAGLDR 1.13 (most up-to-date boot-loader for the NAND Android ROM to-date)
From this point you can follow the instruction of what ever ROM you decide to install.

The original HTC windows mobile 3.14.xxx.x ROM
Now if you are asking which is best for you that’s a hole different story.
And the only way to know is to try them all. (Any think you do can be undone once you keep a downloaded copy of your original ROM on your PC.)
The combination I use is the 3.14 ROM with CHT V2 and AmeriCan Android running off the SD.

Everything you need is there, I did mine last year and at the moment i'm running the latest MIUI ROM, this is what this phone was made for.
If you can follow clear instructions then you will have no problems at all but stray from the path and you can easily make your phone a paper weight.
