Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Who wants a phone that you cannot remove or added second battery if you need it. You cnnot add more memory if needed. I would fill up the HD with my videos alone, not to mention music, and pictures. The phone is just a fade. The HD2 will take some of that share from the iphone.
This is the best phone ever made from Htc. Briliant and big screen, touch system so close with iphone, sound quality awesome and at and so fast mobile phone. I let my iphone 3gs on table and start love windows 6.5 again because got this phone......
It makes me laugh the way the ppl ask stupid questions here about stupid phone (esp win mobile). But I can not blame ppl for their ignorance. Its win mobile's fault. Here is a thing: htc hd2 is no doubt a very powerful phone but the fact is…it is still loaded with aging OS win mob 6.5. If you do not want to go through hassle, pls get iphone 3gs. It still surpass hd2 in speed, UI & ease of use. Its not f..kin about 1ghz processor or 448 mb Ram. Its about OS. Aging Win mob is simply power hungry & it needs twice the power of Iphone to perform the same task. So don’t be excited about 1gh processor & 448 Ram. I'd be surprised if HD2 can surpass present iphone 3gs' speed & smoothness even with this new hardware muscles. Stop whining about hd2 as you need to give some extra valuable time to get familiar. If u want sth perfect out of box….then get iphone 3gs. I am currently iphone3gs owner and looking to buy hd2….not becoz I don't like iphone. Its about change. Do you want to want to wear same pant & jacket for yrs?? I'm not fanboy. I always appreciate new innovations if it’s good…..not like Anthony. No doubt hd2 is remarkable phone but its not that as easy as iphone. And I used to be winmob user….so I know its strength & weaknesses.
Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Need to know about it release and price in InDiA too....
Someone reply.... I need this phone badly!!!

Do ... moreSorry I just used there service to mod my HD and will do the same for the HD2. But other than that I don’t hang around in either of them. They are just a means to get what I need done on my phone because I’m not a programmer so I’m happy that they are there to do it. I’m in here more because there are guys like Dexter, transformer and others that share info when they find new good programs. And that info maybe of use to me.
Hey Anthony, how do I get in contact with you either on the xda-dev forum or on htcpedia ? Do you have a screen name I could use to ask some questions there? Thanks!

Here is the link.
I don’t know if it will need a HardSPL to load it because I did not get my phone as yet.
For you out there that don’t know what HSPL is …
HardSPL is a modified (hacked) boot loader which allows the flashing process to take place. It also removes the need to CID Unlock (vendor lock) is put on your device by the manufacturer to prevent installation of a ROM not released by them.
Think of the Boot loader as your Device's BIOS. The boot loader is the first thing to load once you turn on the device, this does the job of booting up the device hardware and loading various items into memory before the ROM starts in the device. The boot loader is also responsible for enabling the flashing of new ROMs and other components such as the Radio and the Ext_ROM.

Why are people arguing about what is better? This is a great phone, other phones out there are great too :P
there is no such thing as a perfect phone, and every phone has good points for every bad. lets just conclude here that: This phone is a great phone with some great points, and the omnia2 is equally good at doing other stuff.
Anonymous, 12 Nov 2009Tied list
"13. Both have the same camera spec so that is a tie."
Pictures taken with the O... moreHay I did it just by reading the spec not by using the phone. that is how "kNkH" a.k.a "Anonymous" wanted it, he/she said read the spec. and I did say that was no way to judge a phone.
So "13. Both have the same camera spec so that is a tie."
"15. Video is a tie"
Omnia II: 720x480, 30fps HD2: 640x480, 30fps. Omnia does its video in a 16:9 ratio and the HD2 does its video in a 4:3 ratio. Both have the same 480 hight in the video so it’s a tie.
(And not to forget, you can use a stylus on it)…. That's like say “don’t forget these phones don’t have a physical dial pad like a Nokia N79” (nice to have but it does not need a stylus.)
High Tech, 12 Nov 2009Well just recieved my HD2 today. Phone is okay so far. I like the fact it's thin. How do you g... moreVideo plays in the “picture & Video” tab (not the Audio tab) and if you are not seeing your video file you have to open the “albums” and browse for it. Also if the video is not in a format that is supported by the player you will have to install “coreplayer”.
The first thing you should know because people make this mistake all the time… GPRS and GPS is not the same thing. GPRS is a data plan you have to get from your Cell network provider, just like EDGE. GPS is the global positioning system. If you are really having a problem with your GPRS and you already have a data plan. This is the steps to set it up if it did not auto setup.
1. Go to the settings tab
2. Tap on wireless controls or Comm Manager whichever one you see.
3. Tap the Data connection icon on the left (not the off/on switch on the right). (that will open connection setup)
4. Choose the Country of your mobile operator from the list then choose your mobile operator from the other list.
5. Then tap ok. And follow the onscreen prompts
If you don’t have a data plan with your mobile provider it will not work. And you will have to use wifi that has to be turned on from the comm manager as well.
The phone does not look at the sky or smell the air and tell you the weather :-) it gets the info off a weather database, so you do need the internet whenever it needs to update. If you don’t have wifi or a data plan, hook your phone up to a laptop with internet and setup ActiveSync. It will shear your laptop internet connection.
The first time you use GPS you should run the quitGPS software first. That needs the internet as well to download from the data base.
And you should be outside (not in a building full of solid concrete and steel. GPS works by line of site with the GPS satellites orbiting the earth.
If you’re Clock is set to “my location” and not your country and city you will need the use of a data plan and the GPS for the phone to find your location and then download the info it needs. If you don’t want to do that, Take the clock of “my location” and pick your country and city from the world clock list. And take off the weather animation of the home screen if you have no way of getting the internet on the phone to download the weather data. (Just use a .jpg picture for your background).

"13. Both have the same camera spec so that is a tie."
Pictures taken with the Omnia II is much, much better than on the HD2.
"15. Video is a tie"
Don't think so. Omnia II: 720x480, 30fps HD2: 640x480, 30fps.
Omnia II was better
"8. Omnia II has camera."
Front-camera for video-calls, I guess.
And not to forget, you can use a stylus on it. (Yes, you can use a capacitive stylus on HD2, but they are still as big as a finger...)
