ProjectCM3, 07 Nov 2009This is directed towards the people that have experience with "shells" or similar things...Ant... moreOk what you went to in the link is a shell a.k.a. a skin not a rom.
If you where to think of the phone as a desktop PC...
A rom would be the manufacture Image Drive with the OS and other programs on it for when you need to do a factory reset.
And a skin would just be a program that runs on the os like WinCustomize.
A cooked rom would be like what the I.T. guy in the office would make with a program like Norton ghost after he has set up the PC just the way he wanted it and with the programs he wanted on it. So when he does a format and reinstall it does not come back to manufacturer setting it comes to the I.T. guy settings.
Because SPB Mobile Shell is just a program is can be turned on and off just like the since UI
I have tried the SPB Mobile Shell, it is nice but it got old really fast and I went back to using the Leo UI. So don’t buy it use the trial first and if you like it more then you can buy it. But I don’t think you will like it more. And this is the official site to get it is.
My phone is on it's way to my bro... due on 11th by Fedex... But i'll get it here mid December...
Can't wait for GsmArena full review... I am most interested in audio performance of this jewel & yes audio input would be better on top of device in my opinion...
This is directed towards the people that have experience with "shells" or similar things...Anthony, I'm looking at you :)
I was searching online for potential Apps for the HD2, and ran into this:
Click on the video on the page, and tell me, can this replace the Sense UI from the HD2? I guess the question is, does this cover up the winmo UI the same way as the Sense UI? If so, is it better?
Like I said in the past, I'm pretty much new to this whole "cooked rom" "skins" "shells" etc...If you guys could be so kind as to give definitions and examples of what these things are, and perhaps websites of each one where I can find them, that would be very much appreciated! Thanks in advance again!
Just checked tracking info on UPS. Delivery date on my HD2 is Wednesday the 11th. Cannot wait to get this Nice phone in my hands......
I have just talked to my campus IT support and they said at this moment only iphones are able to connect to the campus wi-fi. They do not know about other mobile phones.
I was wondering will this phone be able to? and why the iphone? wat makes it special? i do not want to be forced to buy an iphone, i want HD2.
is there a way for me to have w.e the iphone has on this phone?
This phone is awesome!!!
It does have digital compas btw i tested it myself have the HD2 since 4-5 hours now (saw some people saying it lacked the digital compas).
I really like the feeling the phone gives (UI feedback etc)
Ownly thing is aps. In holland the ap store ownly has 8 aps or so :S
This is a thing microsoft really needs to work on.
Give us english and american aps as well!!!!
what's the maximum compatible external card capacity?
8, 16 or 32 GB ?
at first you should turn it off, then plug in for charging between 5 to 6 hours, then turn it on and use your phone about half hour, then charg it again until you observed it is charged.because in this way all of battery's cells are completly interfered,or i can say you can use all of your battery's cells appropriately....
Here's the place I ordered from:
HURRY. Don't know how many is left????? It's in stock NOW....
Just recieved an email from the company I purchased my HD2 from and it said it has shipped (2-3days). Even had tracking info. Should get it no later than Tuesday. YES. YES. YES...... Will keep you posted....
I had a question that pertains to the battery/first time use/charging of the battery. Here goes,
1) I've heard stories that people have told that the best way to "prep" your phone battery for maximum charge life like so:
A) Right when you get your phone for the first time, turn the phone on, and use it until whatever electrical power is in the battery from the factory is drained.
B) After than, and ONLY after that, connect your phone to the charger and charge the phone to maximum capacity.
C) After that, DO NOT charge your phone until the battery drains out ENTIRELY, then charge it to maximum capacity once again.
D) Basically, after you've charged your phone to maximum capacity, you are supposed to repeat the whole "maximum charge, full battery depletion, maximum charge" steps for at least 3 cycles.
2) Or, should be just plug the phone in the power outlet and charge it as soon as we get it, and is the above procedure a bunch of garbage?
Your thoughts, opinions, or personal style of doing things with regards to how you handle your new phone and battery cycle...not just with the HD2, but with your new phones from the past. Thanks in advance!
Found the manual for the HD2. Here's the link:
will HD2 support windows 7?will I be able to update?thanks in advance.
