what about gps aplications....?
is it possible to have igo8 in this phone ?
Salman, 07 Aug 2009You can read word, excel, powerpoint and PDF files on the Hero, but not edit at the moment. Thanks Salman, much appreciated. What about syncing with my Desktop Outlook - contacts, mail, tasks, calendar etc
i have had the pleasure of owning one of these and a G1 and use an ipod touch - which gives me insight into the iphone UI
I must say this phone is very well build, really good menus, the customisation options are huge! the multitasking is a biggy for me, and yes its worth using taskkiller or such apps to control the processes
with regards to lag, having spoken to two or three techy people at tmobuk they all have informed me that a major software release is due for it! i havent tried the multimedia capabilities but the camera side of things is VERY poor which is what made me sell it - i loved my camera on the C905 cant get better!
if you want an organiser phone thats awesome for the internet then get this - if you want a multimedia phone then think iphone, if you rather have a camera phone then get something else, pixon or c905 - but bring on the satio which will have all three of these things!!

The thing is, in the Hero, there is a lot of stuff running in the backgroung without the user's knowledge, while it still has the same processor and RAM as the magic. so it is a heftier phone with almost the same hardware as magic, which makes it a bit slow (but not terribly slow!). May be software updates (Android donut etc) will help.
Use taskiller app and a class 6 microSDHC card to improve performance.
I am sure this device will get better in future.

It is only there to connect to the bluetooth headset. However, future HTC or Android updates or third party apps might make it able to share files as well. Fingers corssed!
Maybe its a little bit offtopic, but I just have to say it, because its kind of bugging me and I'm so tired of hearing so much of the Sense UI's hype.
MY QUESTION: Isn't Sense a lot laggier/ slower than the basic Vanilla UI? Is it an upgrade or downgrade? Just look at the videos on Youtube. I admit it, its pretty but so does Vanilla. So what's so amazing about it...
I have an iPhone 3G and I'm considering moving to Android with Samsung's Galaxy. You Apple fanboys don't get me wrong here, iPhone still rocks but its a little bit boring now, and Apple did a bad job with 3GS since (In my point of view) it does bring nothing else but a faster processor, video, compass and they are all nice things but to my its not worth the upgrade. Apple WTF, where's the 5mpx camera with flash and the front facing camera??
I know Galaxy doesn't have the front facing camera, but I'm getting more and more curious with Android, with its Google services integrated, multitasking etc.
Please If you're a G1/ Magic etc. (Vanilla UI devices) owner could you comment if you agree/ disagree with me on the laggy Sense UI.
