People, don't get too hyped about this. LTE >>> WiMAX
WiMAX is pre-4G, while LTE is the true 4G.
Also, Ericsson - the world's biggest telecom company, is ONLY supporting LTE, so WiMAX might be a failed standard, just like HD-DVD.

> In reply to tee @ 2009-04-18 10:39 from PZLd"When will this handset be available in australia? Will it work in australia? i've also lost tomtom nevigator on my htc hd. any advice on how to get it back on please.
Thanks"
LTR.
this phone is for sale in Russia Only. It uses WiMAX(4G) as its primary network.
do not get down about it though, Australia will be seeing 4G, along with most of the world soon...

Can someone explain? The phone title says MAX 4G, under the specs headings GENERAL - states 2G network, under heading DATA -states 3G - No - so is it safe to say that it uses 2G technoloy and will be able to function wiht 4G once is fully developed. Thanks,

> In reply to read it @ 2009-05-01 02:52 from RNFyIf it HAD 3G the rest of the world would be able to use it! We all know WiMAX is faster, but who cares when you can only use it in Moscow/St Petersburg.
It's a HOT phone, why not make a WCDMA version for the rest of us...

To all people who complain about no 3G on this phone, LEARN TO READ !!!!!. It is a 4G phone ( HTC MAX 4G ) DERRRRR , and it does not need 3G because it is for wimax enabled areas ( only a few in the world ) which is far better than 3G.
This phone will be no good in most countries because most countries still run on slow 3G.
The fact that many peopel are complaining about no 3G on thios phone just shows the rest of us , how stupid an illiterate many of you are.

ha ha .... it's really very funny and unbelievable that HTC MAX '4G' doesn't have '3G' :))... LOL ... just dump the plans to buy this and i suggest to go 4 HTC touch pro 2.
It's always good to have alternative input to mobiles other than the touch screen, as I've seen that iPhone touch screen was giving problems and we even we can't dial a no. & left with a dummy phone which can't do anything except accepting calls.
