Dean MS, 25 Jun 2013i would totally buy this phone if the camera is 8 MP or more Re: a minimum of 8 MP needed for a cam phone...
I haven't bought mine yet, but I can answer your question anyway.
HTC One has a very large sensor, and very few sensor sites ('megapixels'). This means that more photons (light) hit each sensor than a camera with a smaller sensor and many more sites, if you have the same exposure time.
That means better hand-holdable pictures in lower light.
It also means less noise per pixel, because every sensor has lots of noise, and the more actual light that can hit each sensor site means a better signal to noise ratio, and so less need to apply massive noise removal (which is either blurring or making 'fake' pixels to get rid of the noisy look).
It also makes it easier for a camera to focus accurately in low light.
Add optical image stablization for both photos and video, and adjustable flash power, you've got a pretty powerful camera that you carry around with you and can rely on anytime.
If you figure you can print an 8"x10" print with a 4MP camera that's as sharp as can be, you need to ask how often you've had a camera phone image blown up bigger than that.
The only downside is that with 13 megapixels, you can crop in to a portion of the image after the fact, but again, you've got to ask yourself, when's the last time you opened a phone camera image in a photo editing application? Probably not very often.
Whereas pulling out your phone at an evening function or a dimly lit boardroom or to snap a picture of that whatchamacallit under the kitchen sink or under your car's hood is probably gonna happen a lot more often, and you'll get a better image that you can really use later.
I only wish HTC would do two things: use a Foveon sensor instead of the current CMOSs, and provide a sliding cover over the camera sensor (mine gets dirty all the time).
Htc products are always the best. from August 2010 until now, I have been using my htc wildfire and I am still certisfied with my cellphone.
battery life, overheating and slow network is something to me coz i didnt face such a problen for over 3 years.
Dont buy the HTC One. Had it a week. Glass broke first time I dropped it - six inches to my desk. Gorilla glass? Took four years to break my iphone. Antenna gate is alive. Have to hold with two fingers and several inches from my ear. And do not try texting in bed in the dark. Real trouble keeping the display lit. Phone keypad is odd on that first digit. And yes it has gremlins. Volume turns down to zero by itself. Surfs goggle all by itself. Camera just starts whenever.
About AT&T. Dont believe what they say about the protection plan. The deductible is $199 no MATTER what the store rep tells you.
It is beatutiful to hold and touch. But put a $25 shock cover on an all aluminum case?!
I just bought HTC One few days ago ,I like HTC but for me HTC1x looks (design) much beautiful than HTC one , I donn't know if most of the HTC buyers agreed with me but I am sure most of them will.
I hope you improve the looks in the next version
fantastic result for one` battery life :
one is king 2013.
I have been reading all specifications and reviews of the main smartphones in the market since 2-3 years. After lot of research, I tried to keep myself away from iPhone considering it costly and not that much of specs. Then I got an iPad and thought no requirement of iPhone now.
Still I was to buy my first smartphone, and saw this HTC One model.
One thing is sure this is the best smartphone in overall aspects
It is much more royal to take in hand than the iPhone
Loved its Zoe feature, and amazing sound quality with the beats audio.
I got my HTC M7 801e last week, SIMPLY IT IS THE BEST
SOUND, DESIGN, the camera acts like professional cams (i will never believe the MP count !!)
, Slight overheating with games but still acceptable and the Aluminum body acts as heat sink , its FANTASTIC)
HTC ONE is # in the UNIVERSE

You can discover those speaker and battery problems in your Lumia phone either. The Lumia phones have a poor speaker volume and the battery problem is a common for any kind of phone except Motorola. The main issue behind this problem is poor battery management of the user. Therefore don't blame it for the phone manufacturer, and try to manage your battery life efficiently.
For HTC One users can install Snapdragon "Battery Guru" application in the Google Play Store. That's will increase your battery life by 20%.

I suggest you buy one and test a unit yourself before drastically commenting

I'm an HTC one owner still have my HTC sensation which my wife now uses it's 2 years old no prob just like my One. You clearly know nothing about the HTC and must be inlove with your S4 or whatever you have. If you want to bag a ph for overheating and negative feedback and poor user ratings then the overhyped plastic fantastic S4 should be your target.

Mobilemaster, 28 Jun 2013Of course you are writing bad things about the S4 in a HTC forum. Anyway, you are right about ... moreOf course those are negative points of S4. As a beloved Samsung fan it may be hurt you. But nothing to do, that's is the truth. They aren't false and I'm never bashed or insulted S4 here just wrote the disadvantages of S4.
