This phone is exceptional. I've been an iPhone user since the 3G and always wanted to try Android due to iOS becoming very stale and boring. Two times previously I've tried to switch to Android and ended up switching back to iPhone. The two previous models were the SGS2 and SGS3, and I was just overwhelmed by the lack of quality/software complication.
The iPhone 5 had serious hardware issues for me; I had to replace it four times. Frustrated, I decided I was going to get the SGS4. Again, I ended up becoming frustrated with the phone and decided to swap it with the HTC One. I am thoroughly impressed with what this phone can do and it's quality. Samsung Galaxy phones made me think I could never switch to Android. The HTC One makes me think how can I ever go back to iPhone? The HTC One is an amazing phone, and I recommend this to anyone who is coming from the iPhone.

In Shanghai they have a China Unicom only model of the HTC One that has a removable back plate, revealing a dual-SIM setup and removable microSD. Not sure if it is locked to Unicom, but it's a pretty sweet phone that is not available anywhere else as far as I know. Even though Unicom says you can get it for free, the contract works out that you pay nearly $1000 USD to take this badboy home. Guess I won't be upgrading the Desire HD this month...

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2013-05-17 18:19 from t1$J - click to readThis phone comes with 32GB & 64GB memory. So why do you need a sd card slot. SD cards are really slow when coping data and sometimes they would give you some problems. You don't know anything about phones, just simply go and buy a Nokia 1100.

I got the One when it came out in the US. I've had it about a month now, and all I can say, is that is is exactly what I was looking for in a smartphone. The BoomSound is so crisp and clear, the design feels very good in the hand, and the screen is impeccable.
The sound that comes out of this phone blew me away when I first heard it in the noisy loud packed room at the launch event in NY. I could hear it so well, even then. Now, in a silent room, I don't need to listen to my tv, just pop on some music thru my One. In fact, I'm using it right now as I type this.
The design is very ergonomic. The contour of the back fits well in my palm, and with a screen size of 4.7", I can comfortably use it in one hand without reaching. The aluminum disperses heat very well from the hardware components, and when the phone is sleeping, its nice and cool to the touch. One thing I have noticed, though, is while zero-gap has been touted, and 99% of the phone does indeed follow this, there is a slight gap between the speaker grille and the plastic near the power button. I've seen models that do not have this, and some that have it worse than me, but its only noticable if you look for it.
My previous phone, the Windows Phone 8X, had a great screen. It was 720p HD, with a 300+ ppi. Then when I got this phone, with its 4.7" full 1080P HD screen with a ppi of 468, I was blown away. I couldn't see the pixels at all. Even with a magnifier, its tough to decipher them. The picture is nice and clear as well, no dead pixels or anything of the sort.
The camera is out of this world. The low light capabilities of this thing are insane. I took a photo with my One of a friend at a bar, then took one with his iPhone 4S, and his photo was black, whereas mine was crystal clear. Zoe is a great feature, and the live gallery is really cool.
Overall I'd give the One a 9.7 out of 10. A couple things have been removed from Sense, such as quick settings and skins, but nothing that really hinders performance. I would recommend this phone to everyone.

This is my fourth HTC phone, feel and look of the phone is stunning. The curved back, the front facing speakers "BoomSound", Zoe and BlinkFeed they meet all my daily needs. I am heavy user of my One, i get around 23h battery life. Thank you for bring me back to life with HTC One.
"I think for most android users this is the phone we have been waiting for."
