Anonymous, 11 May 2014For your info. Kitkat don't support writing to external SD card by downloaded 3rd party apps. ... morePLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS & READ MY COMMENTS CAREFULLY .
I said you can't only move apps into the external SD card. But you can copy & paste any file from phone memory to SD card. If you install the 'AStro File Manager" you can browse any type of file or folder in the phone memory as well as the SD card. Similarly, Astro File Manage allows you to do all the task such as copy-paste, rename, delete & etc.
Although, none of the third party file manager allows you to move apps into the SD card. If you need to move apps in the SD card, the only method is, going to the "Application Manager" in the phone settings, then move apps into the SD card. But the KitKat version of Android doesn't allows you to do that.
The HTC M8 is not the only phone which comes without a stock file manager, but also Sony and LG phones. If Kitkat doesn't supports third party file managers, there are so many Android users will get trouble. I don't think Google is not fool enough to do such a thing.
Any android phone which comes without a SD card, its internal memory splits into two parts called "Phone Memory & "Internal Memory." That's the thing I mentioned regarding the HTC M7. Of course I know that M7 doesn't have a SD card slot. It was my previous phone.
* IF YOU USE ASTRO FILE MANAGER YOU CAN MOVE ANY FILE FROM PHONE MEMORY TO SD CARD.
I want to ask about the htc one m8, does the camera great enough?? how about the sd card problem? which are you prefer?? and should i go for the m7?? -Thank you
Techno J., 11 May 2014I haven't faced such a problem in my previous M7. I was able to move any app form phone memory... moreFor your info. Kitkat don't support writing to external SD card by downloaded 3rd party apps. You can not copy, paste anything from phone memory to external sd except with inbuilt file manager. The case for htc is the worst since htc don't provide inbuilt file manager. M7 don't have SD card so it is not included in this problem. Forgot about astro file manager, solid Explorer etc there are chances that they work for Samsung. But for htc, none is working for now. If you buy htc forget about external sd and make sure that the one you buy has enough inbuilt memory.

I was able to move any app form phone memory to internal memory. I think any file manager in the Google store could be work for M8. But I prefer the Astro File Manager.
I prefer the phones without SD slot cards even though they are quite expensive.

I don't know why Samsung didn't give this option on note 3 but probably because note 3's lowest storage is 32 gb and hence we don't need it that much.
Even s5 has this feature to move apps to sd card. I saw it and I can confirm it.
Thanks. It's ok now as astro file manager is working fine for basic stuff. Is any other file manager also working or is it only astro??
And 64 GB internal storage is insanely expensive. Even a 64 GB UHS I card is dirt cheap in front of 64 gb internal storage.
I don't know how I can prove it to you but I can move apps to sd freely.
Have a nice day

But I can move any file such as mp3, videos, pictures & etc to the SD card. The Astro File Manager is perfectly working on my M8.
I think there is no any file manager to move apps into the SD card. You can only do it by going to the "Application Manager" in the phone settings; then, move apps into the SD card. Nevertheless, KitKat version of the Android not allows you to do that.
This is not merely the problem of HTC M8. One of my friend who using a Note 3 also facing the similar problem after updating Jelly Bean to KitKat.
Harminder singh, 11 May 2014I,m using HTC M8 with Astro File manager....no problem at all. you can move files to SD card.Yeh, I'm using the Astro File Manager as well. You can move, delete, create new folders and etc through Astro File Manager.
But you can't move apps into the SD card in KitKat.
Saurav Ghosh, 10 May 2014Hey thanks for pointing out your views about the S5. Honestly I was thinking about buying it y... moreI was in the same quandary before I finally picked up the M8.
The camera is pretty decent and good for regular pics.
Where this phone excels is:
Design, build and looks.
It outperforms S5 in smoothness of interface and fluidity of sense 6. I feel it even outperforms apple in this regard.
I am thrilled with my purchase and have no regrets.
hey guys I know that after android 2.3 google did not allow us to move apps to sd card but manufactures like htc(desire x, desire 600 etc) samsung(s4,grand, core etc)and sony(Xperia c) allowed us to move apps to SD card, so my question is not that kit kat allows us to move apps to SD card or not, my question is whether HTC has given the option in m8 to move apps to SD card or not??

Also I have come to know that kitkat doesn't give freedom to 3rd party file browsers. And if I am correct, m8 doesnt have a built in file browser. So doesn't it give problems??? How do you cope with that?
I don't think moving apps to sd card is a problem. I have many apps on the sd card on my s4. And it is at 4.4.2. So it's the decision of htc to not allow people to do it. In one way it's good as many people buy cheap sd cards and put their apps in it and later blame it on the phone for not performing up to the mark.
I still am confused as I didn't get to interact with anyone owning exynos s5.
Have a nice day
rick.1, 10 May 2014Does the new HTC ONE M8 has an option to move apps to sd card??please answerUnfortunately Android Kitkat version doen't allow you to move apps into the SD card. This is not an issue of the M8, many phones which running Android Kitkat are having this problem.
I personally hate this SD Card. A 64 GB internal memory without SD card is more than sufficient to me.
Anonymous, 10 May 2014Anyone know if is possible to large menu, especially text messages on HTC One (M8)?Yes, you can choose to view texts in Large font, Huge font is also available. Go to Settings, Display..., Font Size. Enjoy!
