famouz, 11 Jul 2016Best phone.very very resistant.my kinder dropped, thrower ,put water inside and still working.... moreYea, just whatever you do, do not updated when prompted to. It will ruin every positive comment you made above. I loved my phone yesterday, finally did the update today, I now hate htc, will never buy another one. A. A company really must suck when their update totally incapacitates your phone like it did mine today.
Best ever phone made by HTC. It has superb build quality as well as a nice display with CGG3 protection despite being little weighty (160g). While people all around are talking about the battery backup of this phone saying its not good, I must say that smartphones these days are made heavy in terms of hardware so its obvious that it will consume more power than expected. 14hrs of battery backup is enough for it. I'm using it since a month, upgraded it to Marshmallow through official RUU Stock Rom and it's working absolutely fine and smooth. No issues has been detected yet. Battery backup is also fine even on 3G band. Just the thing is I can't just switch to GSM Only mode in Marshmallow RUU Stock Rom. I would definitely suggest others to give it a Go.
This phone was outstanding when I got it and continued to be great until the dreaded January 2015, when I was updated to Lollipop. Lollipop RUINED my phone and you can now describe the experience about "as smooth as sandpaper." The phone is incredibly laggy and also insanely hard to root if you want to do anything about it (thanks verizon). Camera sucks and so does the battery life now, it routinely shuts off at around 18%, and when it shuts off, it WON'T TURN ON WITHOUT NEEDING A FACTORY RESET. What a POS. Never again will I buy an HTC. Also, after upgrading to Marshmallow, the experience became no better and there are days when I am livid for no reason and I just realized it is because my phone is so terrible, and in order to improve my quality of life, I just went out and bought a Nexus 6. Hopefully that'll keep me sane until next July.
Not at all good. 3g connectivity stopped working though 4g was fine. LCD also started giving trouble, all these with new handset, and the worst part is the customer service that you will get from HTC ,once your device is in service centre.
Anonymous, 08 Jul 2016Was a fine phone in 2014. Runs like sludge on Android v6.0.Yeah, sludge with nitro! M8 is better than ever with Marshmallow :) Sure your M8 isn't defective or something?
Best phone.very very resistant.my kinder dropped, thrower ,put water inside and still working.like a champ.i still don't want to change it.i only have problems with front speakers because of dust ..shit inside and charging port but after thousands of charging's is normally.i recommend this phone .you can find it even at 150 euro on eBay

The truth is a have bad experience with midrange android phones-tablets (lag, apps force closing, random restarts). So i thought taking an old flagship would be better. And htc m8(design&specs)is one of the phones I like the most at this price range. Does it still runs smoothly? Most comments here are negative.
My HTC works properly with CDMA network but I am facing problem when I am using the GSM network . Can any one tell me the solution.
Fallen138, 02 Jul 2016Hi. I need some advice :) Should i get this phone for 250€ or a more recent mid range device?... morePerformance wise, I would say no. In antutu it scores about 40'000 and that isn't up to date anymore. For example Xiaomi Redmi 3 gets 50'000 and OnePlus 2 (if you can get it and with that price) even 75'000. But for all the other things I would say yes. It gets really good update support, Android 7 is confirmed for it. It has a very good battery life. The screen is one of the best LCDs. The beautiful design with it curved brushed aluminum back is still good looking and does not look like you have an old phone which you got cheap. The dual camera is in my opinion a gimmick and some reviewers said the camera isn't good, even back in 2014. But if you can life with that it's a really good offer. The excellent boom sound speakers on the front give it fat bezels, but I think that's not that much of a disatvantage. So I would pick it. I'm only wondering why you get such a phone as a second phone :)
Mudolak, 05 Jul 2016my own also have Mic problem it only work on speaker by i dnt think is damage bcos is working... moreyeah. But i tried the microphone by hard reset also. nothing happen. When i took it for a repairing shop they also said microphone is dead. So now im replacing it and will see.
Very nice phone. Rarely hangs, best camera, no problem with even more than 15 apps working at a time. Extremely powerful speakers with best quality sound. Display is extraordinarily good.
bob, 04 Jul 2016after update, my boom sound is not working in my htc one m8..Try cleaning speaker grill with toothbrush. It worked magic for me.
