It's great with new model n chip. But somehow HTC still stuck with 5" for this new model n poor battery. If like that, I think they will go bust soon instead of returning to profit.
Anonymous, 22 Oct 2015Yes, strange to have both on-screen and physical button...seems like poor software.i don't think it has a physical button. I think that home button is only for fingerprint; like we have for OnePlus2. And in my option I like that there are no physical keys on either side of fingerprint reader because when i play games or watch video sometimes i accidentally hit the menu or back keys. Which i liked about iPhone, there is place to rest your fingers :)
I think most of the commenters are so stupid. The HTC One A9 is a "Mid-Range" Phone as the company officially announced, so this phone cannot be compared to iPhone 6 or Samsung S6 or any other Top Range Smartphone. That means, One A9 is attended to be suitable for the majority of the people, who don't need Super Performance, and don't want to pay a lot of money. Now in this case, and without testing the phone by my hand, i think that the phone & its price are good. Maybe the price could be more lower, but i don't see that is "Too High" as some commenters said.
Please #HTCOneA9 @HTC be available to @Tmobile. I love this version of HTC phone, not bulky and very slim and handy. I will get it for my mom for Christmas.
On screen buttons and no front speakers...so why the bezels are so big ???
Anth0ny, 21 Oct 2015if it has a physical home button, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, is there still an on screen home button? ... moreYes, strange to have both on-screen and physical button...seems like poor software.
Had they positioned the 'back' and 'multi-tasking' buttons next to the fingerprint scanner and made that the dedicated home button to use the full size of the screen and had they kept front facing speakers I probably would've bought this phone.... Could have been a great all rounder.
don't see why so much hate, it looks pretty nice. Kudos for HTC making mid range phones with more premium materials... plus its nice to see Android phones going back to 5" or smaller sized screens for one hand usage.
if it has a physical home button, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, is there still an on screen home button?
and whyyyyyyyyyy could they just put a capacitive back & Recent apps button to the empty space on the sides of the home button?
Hard to say who is copying who??
antenna bars were design from m7 in 2013.
Rounded off design was from m8 in 2014 Q1.
Then in Sept, APPLE came out with that combined design.
Now A9 was copying iph6? I think back design was already in Desire series with plastic.
Just A9 happened to be finished with metal, doesnt mean HTC copied.
It's a solid phone.
A midrange soc coupled with more storage and ram will be beneficial for everyday use. Very functional.
The year is 2015 and they're still using 5" hd display and not bigger 4k screen. The battery used is 2150 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!). This phone must be a joke from HTC......
behzaatcinar, 21 Oct 20152100 mAh is deadly mistake. 145 mm height and %66 screen-to-body ratio is second deadly mistak... moreVery right 2100 battery is deadly mistake...in present scenario and for such types of smartphone 3000 should be there
big deal htc with this phone look good and feel great
I will buy it soon
thwinoo, 21 Oct 2015Haters gonna hate. i always admire iph6 design but dont like bcoz of its OS. Now with A9, i ca... moreExactly this.
I like this phone. The price will surely drop after about 4-5 months, which is when I'll buy it. The developer community is gonna be big, as this thing is coming BL unlocked. With it being AMOLED, the battery life has very good potential for improvement with dark themes, and the A53s have good efficiency and will work even better when undervolted and target frequencies properly implemented. Devs will also open up its ability to do 1080p@60fps as SD617 is capable of it.
I'm looking forward to this phone. HTC's warranty is also a big plus.
