Even if one s does manage to beat gs3 n one x on some benchmarks that doesn't take into account the number of cores it's still something for a upper midrage device like the htc one s to take on two flagships!

> In reply to dilip22 @ 2012-06-04 07:55 from t@xn - click to readI read here at gsmarena a few days ago that htc tested the 1.7 ghz snapdragon s3 chipset and found that it was almost at par with the processing of s4 krait processor.
Irrespective of the processor the launch price in india is indeed high as u can get it's bigger brother the one x by adding around 5 k more.
It needs to get around 28-29 k INR as gs2 also sells around 27 k.
The one s deserves being 1-2 k costly than gs2 but not more than that.

This is what customer support has to say. Basically it doesnt look like its coming soon, definitely not June 8. Im tired of waiting and going ahead with my purchase....
Also, I enquired it is available in Belgium for Euro 519. With VAT Refund it is available for 30150 which is WAY expensive.

> In reply to dilip22 @ 2012-06-03 05:25 from t@yB - click to readThe gentleman below me is right.the one s with 1.7 ghz s3 chipset is only for taiwan.htc had to do this as there were shortages of s4 chipsets.it'll ship with s4 chipset all around the world except taiwan.
So u don't need to sweat.and btw there was never a coffin for htc one s,forget about the nail.it's a very snappy device even outperforming the gs3 and one x on few benchmarks.it has still not hit the Indian market and 33 k INR is a expected price.it'll be a very gud phone if it's price can be kept below 30 k around 28 k INR which is justified for a device like the one s.

Changing processor from S4(1.5Ghz MSM8960) to S3(1.7GHz MSM8260) is the LAST NAIL IN COFFIN FOR ONE S.HTC has taken some really bad decision for which its one s model had to pay price.first one s had to launch globally at same time.second the price must be competitive.what even worse they completely change chipset to a downgrade version of which already people know its results.HTC IS MERELY FOOLING THE PEOPLES.

I love to get one. HTC might be fixing the chip issue on the phone, rather wait than rush on the release and having the same chipping issue that other one s have.

look like HTC is not interested in indian market so that they offer much higher price as compared to price in other market.if 33000 is price for ONE S than PAYING 38000 FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII is not a bad deal because for extra paying you get world class mobile phone with great features
