Had for about a week now. First impression:
- Not as heavy as I though it would be
- Battery life good
- The touch interface didn't take as much getting used to as I thought.
- Delivery notifications get stored as a new message in the inbox (which I hate)
- Installed a Sandisk 2GB SD card, and it works fine
- Can listen to PocketMusic and run TomTom, just need a bit of patience
- You can overclock the OMAP processor easily, but I haven't tried yet.
- The lack of a normal 3.5mm jack is a little annoying and the bundled headphones aren't incredible. You do get cables on eBay though.
- The back of the phone is plastic but it feels rubbery so it grips quite nicely.
- Camera is way better than I expected
- Loudspeaker is loud enough.
- Comes installed with Tao Intent Midlet Manager for Java J2ME apps. (Opera mini works great)
- The screen is great. Good resolution, bright, vibrant.
- Comes bundled with a screen protector, but be careful of bubbles when applying it.
- Can enable GPS control panel applet in registry.
- Text message tones must be .wav files in \Windows folder, unlike ringtones which can be MP3
- No infrared, but then who still uses infrared?
- I haven't really felt that the processor is too slow. Sometimes listing the windows folder in file explorer will slow the device down considerably, but then again it also does that on my 500mhz Pocket PC.
I'm still as happy with it as the day I bought it. Get yourself a bluetooth GPS receiver and Google Maps or TomTom if can afford it. Install SPB Mobile Shell to make it more finger-operation friendly.

Just been two days , this phone seems to be a good value for money the only problems
Poor Camera
A bit hard touch screen
For me does not scroll in horizontal view. Would like to know if any one else has the same prolems.

Its really good piece. But i face one problem is the font color. Fonts of Windows Start Menu is "WHite". So if any light or bright desktop is selected, it becomes useless. We cant see the menu. Is there any option to change the Start menu font to black or desired color.

For those of you looking to install GPS...maybe you can take a look at Google Maps (do a Google search and download the software), I think it might just come in very handy. You'll be surprised how much you can see in it. For a demo, you can even acces it over the PC before doing it on your mobile.Much cheaper than GPS also.

Ramni...GPRS is simply superb on this phone. You do not need to download any settings from Hutch. However, you need to subscribe to ADVANCED GPRS (not the basic GPRS). It costs 299 pm and Rs.5/MB surfing. That's daylight robbery by Hutch. Else you can opt for the 499 package which comes with 500MB free. Best option is to take an Airtel SIM as they offer unlimited GPRS for 199. You can even use GPRS to connect to your PC and surf the internet on your PC ( for free!). For accessing websites, best and most economical thing to do is use Mobile Google and search your sites under MobileWeb option. These sites are most data friendly and use little data so it becomes very cheap surfing these sites. Once on a site, yo can save them under favorites so that you can directly access them the next time. Cheers.

yes forgot to mention about battery life
its very good i just need to charge it once in 3 days after listening about 8 hours of music on it and also did some rnd in between
the audio jack is proprietry adn very delicate
but the good thing is the usb cable and mains charger got the miniusb connection pin
so hopping to find some mechinal tweak to use another headset.
People looking for a great quality of camera just ignore this device

Hi,
This is very good pda.
1)Camera with 2 mega pixel (not good for taking close picture trying for other modes and difference between day and night mode)
2) sound quaality very good with speaker and headset both
3)real player can be install on it.
4)It got audio boster when headset is connected.
5)terminal services let u access ur pc from this device just like remot desktop( but problem is screen resolution)
6)Device processor slows down when u run real player(offcourse u can increase its clock speed by risisng ur device)
7)it doesnt slow down if u use 2 gb card
8)word excel can be edited.
9)using active syn and a software u can actually use ur device from keyboard of pc( extended keyboard i didnt find it as of much use)
10) internet i dont know if u r intreseted get a gprs and yahoogo (mobile messgner)
I m looking for a camera software for it i will find i will defintely update here
please share ur views and softwares

its a too good..Except that there is ni wi-fi n Cam clarity is very poor.
With such good features at a affordable price the only back log is Camera clarity.

i have recently purchased htc p3400, but can anyone tell me how to download GPS? other though it is not wifi enabled but what difference it makes if i use browsing through my idea card? pl let me know regarding the same

there is not radio on this phone. The phone does not have GPS, however you can install it separately... Good mobile PC. I can easily check my yahoo email...

i welcome all dopod d600/p3400 lovers.
well to change clock from digital to analog hold the stylus on the clock and it will pop with the options analog/digital.
to set any mp3 as ringtone- press and hold ur stylus on that particular mp3 file and option will pop to set as ringtone.
this phone is best buy for all pda lovers and its very cheap also.
so guys pour ur questions on this particula model and i will help all dopod lovers.
