I have just gotten myself a P3600i and it's installed with MapKing. However, I find it quite difficult to use and I still have not managed to get the GPS to navigate. The MapKing feature is not part of the phone user manual. Anybody here can enlighten me on how to get the navigation working?

Thanks.

I own a black colored phone for just over a year now. Functionally very satisfactory. It however has a faulty design as the black paint over its metal shell peels off easily. The metal shell cannot be changed as it holds the components inside. Does anyone have the same problem?

I am no guru in using Garmin XT or MapKings GPS apps. But some members in my forum are good and they are my guide to using Garmin properly. If you are interested, you can join the forum and post your questions to them in the GPS thread (No.7) : http://myavanza.net

I just got this HTC P3600i a month back. Used both MapKings and Garmin XT in it with no problem. No hanging, no stalling or whatever problem but smooth sailing all the way. Based on 10 I would give this model a thumbs up and all the way 10!

I don't know whoever writes negative comments on this phone must be a bloody idiot, doesn't know how the phone work or doesn't own the phone at all and start bitchin on HTC! I own both the P3600i and the 1st gen P3600 and never had any problems whatsoever. Run Tomtom 6 and many other third parity software on it and they all run perfectly. Phone never ever hung on me and I've upgraded rom on the P3600, did some tweaking on both including Touch interface (i can recommend http://www.xda-developers.com for lots of info on HTC phones). Only downside on the P3600i is that you can't upgrade it with a diffrent (cooked rom other than the official one).
Never had any problems with paint peeling off, don't know what you guys doing with the phone but mine still looks as new and I have it for more than 1 year now.
Looking forward to upgrade to Touch Diamond.

I use this PDA since about 2 months. In the meanwhile the phone was exchanged as to overheating. The performance of the Media Player is useless at least as the sound reproduction stutters. The earphones are without use as well as the left ear cable is too short and the microphone clip is mounted the wrong way around this results in falling out of the earphones. The phone is otherwise nice and well manufactured, but needs revision without question. It is not a phone that is ideal for the music lover. It often freezes and is short of built in memory power. My second P3600i is again for repair as to the interrupting audio performance. Otherwise it is fine. It would be better not powered by Microsoft Mobile 6 Professional as it is anything else than Professional. Mobile Windows 2003 was more stable and had very good backup features. As always at Microsoft the latest version is often not the best, just remember Vista and compare it to XP. As a professional person I prefer XP to Vista and I prefer Mobile 2003 to Mobile 6. Better would be if htc would refrain from Microsoft altogether and would change over to Symbian OS just like the really big other manufacturers have decided on.

I got it from 3 Australia. I also got GPS car kit including CoPilot 7 with maps of Australia, car holder, 1 GB card. Its awesome, GPS first takes some time to connect then works perfectly fine. Making calls is so easy and intelligent. As this is my first smartphone and I liked it very much. WiFi is good supports WEP, WPA encryptions. Handwriting recognition and predictive test input is cool.

i used to use i-mate jasjar and recently i upgrade the phone to HTC P3600i. This phone works perpectly without any problems. The disadventage will be it does not have a keypad, its bit hard for the people who is used for keypad. but i am happy with the phone. GPS works reasonalbly. Using this phone in Australia.
