If all WM devices are like this, then it makes the choice simpler...Symbian rules. And WM needs to improve its user interaction capability.

Symbian was developed primarily for mobile devices, unlike Windows, that's desperately trying to grab the market share. Windows is good in many respects, but only for computers.

Symbian is tried, tested, and continually enhanced to meet the growing demands of mobile users. Windows is just playing catch-up.

The fact that Symbian is still being used in several high-end mobiles developed by reputed companies (such as Nokia and Sony Ericsson) goes to prove that it's still useful, intuitive, stable, and robust..... unlike Windows.

WM device lover, check your facts!

Hi! all,

Got this little gadget HTC S710 looks good, feels good for a smartphone, however the battery discharges quickly under normal condition of, 1/2 hour of phone use and about the same time using the browser,
Any suggestions,
Thanks

S710 is not a bad phone, but its processor is sluggish. And it's not as intuitive as Sony Ericssons and Nokias.

If you can live with slow browsing experience, unpredictable connectivity to Exchange Servers, inability to open attachments, comparitively low battery life, and a few counter-intuitive operations, then you are a proud owner of a machine that's capable of turning heads whenever you flash it.

It's definitely worth flaunting! And it doesn't even burn a hole in your pocket.

Price and looks are verrrrryyyyy tempting!

HTC S 710 is an excellent piece of creation. this phone come with all features that i required for today's generation. it is more than a phone. it is a particularly a business phone. it is light weight phone with features like W-lan, bluetooth, Window office etc.. the price compared to other PDA phone is less. this is a really good phone with all features. I second your opinion. HTC S710 has deadly looks, but behind this shiny skin, there's no meat.

I have used E61 too..... It's much better. The web pages load faster..... I like the mouse cursor it provides. It's so predictable, unlike HTC S710.

Sometimes, the call cancel button didnt work, so I was unsure of its usage. There is no graceful way to exit any application. You can only go back. And all the applications that you used are running. You have to go to Task Manager to kill them..... so counter-intuitive.

The list is endless. I hope HTC fixes all this in the next version of S710 -- HTC Wings. I desperately wanted my S710 to work, because it's so gorgeous to look at. Whenever I flashed it, jaws dropped and drool precariously loomed over this slick gadget. Wish it worked!!!

HTC, are you listening? Please give us a better processor and a good user experience. We are waiting with baited breath for your next sexy-looking phone.

This phone is definitely not for dumbasses because they dont know which phone to choose. This is for intelligently dumbasses, because only they can make a supposedly intelligent decision and happily walk into a ditch.

HTC is a great company, but they have introduced a phone which is a year behind its competitors. I'm sure they will do a better job with HTC Wings; I'll looking forward to that.

This is maybe not a phone for dumbasses... But if knowing how to get the best out of a WM device then it's the best Smartphone ever built!

Congrats and thanks to HTC!

I bought this phone on Sat morning; I was happy. I returned it Mon evening; I was happier!

I was (and still am) a user of Sony Ericsson W800i. Thank god I decided to upgrade (upgrade??) to HTC S710, for now I love my Sony Ericsson even more.

I thank all the reviewers for painting a rosy picture of HTC S710; but for that, I wouldn't have bought a phone from a brand that's unknown to most in India. Soon it will be popular.... for wrong reasons.

The phone is loaded with features: Bluetooth, latest Windows OS, Camera, QWERTY keyboard, WiFi... all of which are disappointing at one level or the either.

I could never configure Outlook to access emails from my office's Exchange Server; maybe I'm dumb or the server is lazy to send files across.

It takes forever to load HTML pages with just 1 or 2 graphics in them; maybe the connection is playing some mischief or the HTML pages are too concerned about the limited space available on the mobile.

The battery drains out by evening; maybe I was abusing the phone by overworking it; I should have given it a break for 4-5 hrs. Don't we all need breaks.

The back panel gets heated up; I guess it's an undocumented feature. The phone can double as an iron box too.

Hats off to HTC for this unique innovation!

I'll stop here... else you may think I'm being cattish.

Final verdict: This phone is worth gifting to your enemies.

I really like this phone but read that the HTC S730 (Wings) is suppose to be coming out in the next couple months with 3G, GPS, and faster processor.
How come GSMarena hasnt posted anything about it? Has anyone else heard or knows when it is coming out?

I recently purschased this phone from expansys.com. It came to me, either refurbished or destroyed at the quality control. The phone's screen fails to work 29 our of 30 times. A button was broken on arrival. The box was not sealed. Avoid this website as they seem to be crooks.
