Wtf are you joking mate an N80 or an N95! No! I had to seriously charge both N80s that I owned at least twice a day! How is that innovative? Why are Nokia skimping on battery life. I had to constantly check my memory on the N80 and even when I did programs still closed themselves because the N80 has 18mb useable ram! How is that innovative? Why are nokia skimping on ram? Because they don't think the people using the phones are intelligent to know what they have done. They don't mention the processor speed or ram anywhere in their descriptions. Don't get me wrong I've used nokia all my life but I'm moving to ppc because they seem to give users with brains what they want. Also, the apps you mentioned are available for ppc, so don't understand that part!
Ppl, ppl, ppl. Get yourselves an N80 or an N95. HTC still has some way to go. I mean have you considered the features that you can pack on these nokia phones (both business and pleasure.) I'm talking p2p torrent downloads, voip (skype etc) and so on. All on these small phone like devices. It is not a miracle why Nokia is number one selling (by far). I'm a fan only because someone (nokia) cares about true innovation and is leading the charge. I would really like to see Nokia coming up against some competition. By the looks of things, it's going to be a while yet. Mobile tech freak.
hold on, so can you edit .doc Word files on this? because i've read from other sites that you can view office and pdf files, but nothing on editting??
After reading some forum threads, I couldnt find any answers to my two main problems.
First of all, the battery life is horrible. After a day of medium usage the battery has to be recharged. I was trying many different things, but nothing would do any difference in battery life. I have been reading about 2-3 days of battery life. No way. Not with my device.
Isnt there anyone who has traced the problem? Is there any fix I dont know about?
Second, what is this light sensor supposed to do? There dosnt seem to be any difference
having it on or off in the settings tab, nor is there any difference in various light conditions.
I could hold the device in perfect dark or under a 100 Watt light, there dosnt change anything.
I was wondering if this is some bug, fault or not implemented feature. A light sensor
is supposed to control the keypad backlight. Am i wrong?
i got mine today, looks like the lg vx9000 but hands down this htc is the sleekest pda phone out there. by the way for anyone who cares i got it from omnicelusa.com for 460 us dollars they gave a great service too.
I bought this phone after i got a refund for a VERY problematic Nokia N95 and i must admit...this phone is WAY better than the N95.
No slider problems, no battery problems, features are great, Windows mobile 6, QWERTY keyboard...the list goes on....
With the difference of the money I got a blue tooth, sweet leather pouch, 2Gig SD Micro and a hands free car kit.
The only small problem with this phone is that it takes 1 second for the screen to switch from portrait to landscape when opening the slider. I believe this could be solved with a software update in the future.
I give this phone a 8.5/10
got mine today at 475$ from http://www.popularelect.com/pr...ducts_id=373
I recently got mine today for about 350 Euro from http://www.omnicelusa.com/prod...o.asp?id=168 Hands down mate its the best device for the price and features. Cheers and Enjoy.
I heard, u cannot edit excel documents in the S710, is it true? Is their any solution to this problem?
I had heard much about this Company and this phone in particular, I got it yesterday. 400 Euros (Italy). The Leather Case was not there in the pack... Still learing about the phone. The first problem I'm having is that the old messages in my SIM are cut into pieces when I insert the SIM in this phone... Anyone please???
I traded this one after I wasn't fully satisfied with the HTC 310.
About processor speed: It's all in what you expect. The only thing that takes a bit of a wait is when sliding so that the screen needs to turn. Takes exactly 1 second. In general this phone is still remarkably faster than any blackberry I've used. If you confuse this one with a Laptop you'll be dissapointed. Never compared with Nokias, but I don't remember my revo as being faster.
As to touch screen, 3G, fm radio and all that: you get what you pay for. Want touch? Get a 4350 and pay the premium. Decide upon what you want/need in a phone and be prepared to pay for what you want. But don't butcher any model that doesn't fature your needs.
I will keep this one for a few years until a pile of new tech is out again. For now, it does all I want it to do, and it does it better than the 310 as I missed the full keyboard. I also found the 310's screen too small to read emails or to have an overview in the calendar. The only thing I miss from Blackberry is the scroller. It was slow as hell, but that feature was nice.
In short: great smartphone without too many gadgets and frills
Can someone tell me if it is possible to arrange the 'desktop' icons? You can on a BlackB, didn't find yet if this one can.
well, aftar all, 265 wasnt the real price, but totally it cost 324 euro for me now.
But thats only for students!
Than you have to pay:
11 x 24
1 x 60
so together 324 euro.
For normal people: 11 x 30
1 x 85
makes together 415.
*those 11 are the monthly costs , but that is for your phoning-minutes and stuff...*
paid $500 for this one?
here in holland, only 265euro :D
(only for students)
I Recomend you to buy this mobile from Superior Gadgets.whith Paul the owner in Toronto, is a great dealer.
I bought one the last week, sent to CT in only 3 days. Thanks Paul.
Attn HTC Product Developers,
Love this new design which incorporates a standard numeris keypad without the slideout QWERTY keyboard. My problem is a 200 mhz processor in a new phone running windows as the OS...not a good combination...should use a 400mhz processor such as QTEK 9600 and probably incorporate a scroll wheel especially for people on the road!
Lose Data when battery dies? Not true... I completely drained the battery about twice now, but never lost any data.
