For the alarm to work, the phone has to remain on. If your reason for turning off the phone is to conserve enry then jst put the phone in flight mode.

For those in the UK that want this phone, the HTC S730 has been rebranded O2 XDA Atmos and it will be released in March 08 on the O2 network.

The phone is really nice. But it should have been equipped with an auto-focus camera. It's also imho quite too fat. The numeric keypad could have been better.
It's a shame that it has such a powerful cpu and has rather slow interface, including the one for taking pictures :(
But the full qwerty keypad is something really nice. WM itself is also really good. I used to have a Nokia 9300 (the one without wi-fi) and I think HTC S730 is a good phone to choose when your 9300 is getting old =)

Hi, I'm looking at buying this phone as did like the s710 but held back 'cos of lack of 3G. Just need to know a few things. Is the processor any quicker than the Tytn II, what's the battery life like on average & how easy is it to use?
Thanks

I own it couple of weeks now, and really like it. I installed skype for mobile devices on it - everything works fine. Things not very well - camera - it's hard to catch still image. Still waiting fore some soft patches that would enable GPS...

i personally wouldnt get htc phone if i were u until they fix the problem i own 2 htc phone and they left driver out wich makes the touch screen really buggy if we keep buying their phone we will just keep supporting them for bad service stay clear of htc until they start giving us the respect we deserve :)

it has A2DP finally!! + wifi, was keen on getting touch dual but draw back cus of these 2 vital issues,a PDA that doesn't wifi = sports car that can't speed..

Don't Buy this phone or any other with Qualcomm MSMXXXX HTC has refused to develope proper drivers for the graphic processor built in which causes this phone to run at a substandard rate much lower than much older phones.
