seriosusly HTC when you tested the phone how can you NOT figure out that the battery for this phone is CRAP!
I love the phone its an amazing phone, my first android and I am totally in love.

But before your released it I am sure you tested the phone and did you guys not understand the battery needs work? or did you just simply ignore the battery problems?
Come on, you are by far the best phone I have ever had, and I am constantly using the phone having to charge it at least twice a day and now with more usage i might need to start charging it more than twice a day.

a major disappointment. i would not recommend this phone for heavy users.

Yesterday i was checking if there were any updates lately for HTC Sensation. There was an update about 27MB and did it through WiFi connection. The update upgraded the version to 1.35.707.1, After the update i think sync has a problem with gmail sync and maybe others as well. The most annoying change after update was kind of strange. I had set screen to never time out now this option just vanished. I dont know why HTC just updated the software just to change this time out option. Now you can only have time out for upto 2 mins and for more than this you cant do it. Some application dont work when screen is turned off like WifiSyncManager which is very handy for transferring files to/fro phone to PC. But, not because of having no option to never time out option its kind of frustrating. If anyone has same issue and have solved this problem please kindly share it with us. Thank you.

It work perfect for me.

Wonderful realistic screens.
Best user interface ever in a phone. (Nice work HTC for the updated Sense UI)
Battery life is terrible but i managed it with my charger in my car so is still ok with me.
Death grip issue is really a must look through topic from HTC.
Love the solid and metal feels casing better then the plastic feel of SG2 even though SG2 score better in their hardward.
Lastly, it is a phone that will not disappoint you in overall.

Just wanted to point out that having owned a Sensation for a month now, the WiFi killer grip is present. Also tried with 4 other brand new units and still suffered same WiFi death grip. All you have to do is hold it as you normally would in Landscape and WiFi signal degrades. As for battery, i always find myself carrying a battery back to back the battery up. This maybe the case for me since i have unlimited data plans and have my 3G always open add to that my apps are always scheduled to Sync every now and then. After close observation of battery life, from 100% it took only 5hours to bring it down to 35%. I guess battery life is user dependent. As for Phone Signal degrading, also tested it and it doesnt exist for me. Any grip doesnt kill the phone signal for me. Also tried it out with other brand new sensations and didnt cut the phone signal.

Conclusion:
Sensation is an excellent phone.
Battery life for heavy users is not good.
WiFi death grip is real and does exist.
The rest is Perfect.

PS. HTC kindly address the issue of WiFi beyond that phone is perfect. Thanks!ü

I bought the phone 3 weeks ago and it was disastrous
it is my first HTC,
first week, it produced electric charges that made my hair just stands while charging, it turns so hot and battery used to drain in less than 5 hours with lots of system crashes
took it to the HTC center here they just changed the software and told me NO FAULT FOUND..and told me that after changing the software they couldnt see any of what I said
for another week it acted perfect, cool, fast internet, great browsing, nice GPS, nice Cam, nice resolution then
it really turns soooooo hot again on WiFi I cant put it on my ears, there appeared a WiFi death grip in the landscape mode,
I took it bk to HTC center but I am very disappointed, the phone costs here around $800 which is a very big investment for such a disappointment :((

I don't know if it's mentioned in the review, but the sensation has its own 'swype' text imput method.

Does HTC have Gorilla Glass? Because my HTC Sensation touch screen got scratched just because of my nails. Now my HTC Sensation got 3 scratches, they are slightly but in the light, the screen reflects them very clear.

I have been using HTC Sensation since it released in VietNam on July 9th 2011 and feel so satisfied with this phone. First of all, very clear and smooth screen, I think watching angle is not a matter here, we don't need it too much. Sense UI, it is the best now. Design, when I held HTC Sensation on my hand, It was no doubt that HTC Sensation got a very luxury design. To be honest, I got a screen freezing problem, that time I tried to spin Sense 3.0 UI so fast and it was rebooted, hope it will be solved in next update in VietNam. I'm trying camera now, photos are very good so far but full HD videos at night got too much noise. Compare HTC Sensation with Samsung galaxy S2, I have no idea which one is better, but I don't like plastic design of Samsung(in my opinion, it looks like a toy). I think Samsung got better hardware but I still chose HTC even in VietNam HTC Sensation was more expensive than Samsung Galaxy S2(HTC 14.5 Million VND~700 USD, Samsung 13.5 Million VND~658 USD) because of above reasons. And you, just choose what you like!

I had HTC Desire before and was a perfect phone the only problem was the internal memory capacity. I think as being a very heavy user and a die hard fan of Android. But, had to part with it because of having to upgrade it to the latest OS Gingerbread. So, choose HTC Sensation as it was only phone that was available with GB. I was given option of SG2 but i do not like Samsung even if they make a great phone. Anyway this is how i got my HTC Sensation. It just been two weeks that i have HTC Sensation. The phone is really good and don't have any complains with it. However, using it thoroughtly i have come to notice few isssues with the phone.

1. Sometimes, it just hangs or freezes with black blank screen and have to pull out the battery to restart it. There is no other option for it to reboot the phone.
2. When the phone restarts the icon just vanishes and shows the default Android icon. However, i have found a solution for this but this is just temporary. Hope this might get fixed on future updates.
3. Screen bleeds on some widgets for example; power control widget, calendar widget, twitter widgets, etc.

Apart from the above mention problem the phone is near perfect. I wanted this phone watching the HTC presentation by product manager from HTC but it would be a shame if what he told in the presentation and the phone actually running live. Hope HTC will solve this problem in future updates. I was very much in love with my HTC Desire and was sad to part with it. If i have money will get that same phone if the shop owner have not sold it yet. If you have any suggestions for the above problem please kindly share it with us.

interesting reading the comments regarding the SGS2 vs the sensation.

Being a very happy owner of the SGS2, i would agree the HTC sensation's build quality is superior, though that isnt to say the SGS2 is built poorly. For a phone so thin, it is amazingly robust.

secondly, there is no question that the cortex-A9 CPU+Mali 400MP GPU work together like a dream. The SGS2 beats everything quite easily with its raw power. Try Web browsing; the sensation doesn't come close. Tegra2 is a bit disappointing I feel.

Touchwiz vs HTC sense = no contest, sense

guess it all comes down to what you want!
