I have had my sensation for a week know and must say very impressed.
I had a iphone 3g and not sure whether to go for sensation or iphone 4.
I was a bit concerned about switching from apple to htc but after reading reviews and having a play in shop found that maybe htc needed a go.
I think apple will bring out iphone 5/6 early next year which will be a dual core phone and i did not want the same slow performance that the 3g suffered when they brought out the iphone 4.
secondly i was a bit bored off having to launch itunes just to get anything onto to phone.
Now for the sensation yes it is differant yes the battery does drain alot (i have been downloading and playing apps all day) and i charge every night but it is a smart phone i would expect this.
the screen is superb but the big fact for me is it`s like lighting fast true compared to 3g what would not be but my bruv has the iphone 4 and i think it`s quicker than that.
One last thing try to find a web site that compares the sensation to the iphone 4 there aint many which puts the sensation in a differant class.
i am very happy with it and as an ex iphone user (and yes i would go back to apple when there phones catch up) was very dubious about switching im glad i did ....

A big dissapointment for me... i will definitely give it back and buy some other phone....

HTC Sensation sucks seriously. Battery easy flat for just for almost half day. This phone also wont tough enough to support when u drop it. I dropped mine and the whole thing just came off. The whole screen turns blue.unlike my 3310. I tink it drops more den 10 times.stil functioning.sigh..poor HTC

> In reply to Nonga @ 2011-07-06 22:33 from f4a{ - click to readI also live in South Africa, I would go for the HTC! The HTC is a reliable product with a great OS, while the Asus EEE is a very basic entry level notepad with a super entry level OS (most probably Win7Starter) no graphic ability. I have a HTC Desire and got rid of my laptop!

This phone really has some deal breaking issues. There are definately issues with the wifi and with the bluetooth.

Phone #1:

random reboots, Super short battery life, would not stay connected to wifi reliably, poor batter life and it died in less than 24 hours and could not be turned on again. The battery meter just kept dropping even though it was plugged in and the charger and cable were good.

Phone #2:

WIFI: While NOT holding the Sensation in my hnad….The signal is always about 10dBm below my laptop and iPhone when in the same location. Installing a wifi finder reveals that access points are present one moment and gone the next unless they have the strongest signal. The iPhone and the PC see 10+ access points and the Sensation can only see two of the three in my house. If you install a signal analyzer it reveals that the Sensation shows the signal varying wildly while the PC and iPhone show a steady signal.

BLUETOOTH: While playing audio the signal fades and the music skips unless the Sensation is within 2 feet of my Motorol S9 headset. if I put it in a sweathshirt pocket I get skips. If I put the sensation on my pants pocket the audio cuts out 50% of the time.

Other issues: short battery life, stalls, browser hangs, phone search results put web results at the top of the list and contacts and music at the bottom of the list off of the screen making the user think that it is not searching contacts (what happened to ranking the results and displaying the highest ranked and closest matched?), song somtimes changes when unlocking phone, VM notification still displayed when there are no messages, hard to sync music automatically and most third party sync software doesn't sync play counts or ratings, bluethooth integration with built in music player is poor, you have to tell the music player to use bluetooth each time... even if the bluetooth headset isn't already connected. Compared to the iPhone, the navigation is inconsistent. Sometimes you navigate back with the back button, sometimes it's in the software.

I think I'll go back to the iPhone, it is not as flexible as the Android OS, but it executes it's core functions flawlessy. The Android OS, or maybe the Sense overlay doesn't seem ready for prime time.

> In reply to HTC not trustworthy @ 2011-06-14 20:27 from nBwD - click to readHTC is one of the most trustworthy phones I have used. The only thing that can come close to its reliability and toughness is the old Nokia 3210.
I was previouly using the touch 3g and I abused it severely. Bought it second hand but it just kept on going for another 3 years. Intact to this date, its still functioning pretty well considering many times i would leave it on as a modem for days. I trust HTC are making the best products in the market, but then no.one is perfect and i mean no one. A fine line between profitability and product, HTC has figured it out. Bravo.

Is this phone worth to trade with my HTC Desire S? Mine is light and already very powerful, love it very much. HTC sense in Desire S also quite up to date.. I love HTC, previously I also owned HTC Desire and upgrade it with Desire S, well it is worth it! HTC Sensation should be more powerful with Sense update, but I'm worried about the its size, weight, death grip issues and battery life.. Now I got confused whether to upgrade it again or not.. gosh! Any advise?
