> In reply to Ashish @ 2008-10-31 10:11 from DVXvTo end your running applications.
1. Click on start and then click on settings.
2. Then select system from the 3 tabs at the bottom.
3. Open Task Manager
4. Click on Stop All or select the programs you want to stop and then click on stop selected.
Select "Button" tab from the below 4 tabs, check the "Enable the 'X' button to end running programs". Then select "End programs by tapping ''X". This is the first option"
Now, whenever you close programs, they will also unload from memory thereby saving your battery. Also, never keep your wi-fi or GPRS connections active all the time. They are also battery hungry.

> In reply to Darkman @ 2008-10-31 02:50 from M%juwell the thing with the omnia is that with a WQVGA screen, there is no point trying to run a VGA film on it because the quality cannot be shown on the poor screen.
likewise with the 5800 xpress, it is certainly capable of playing VGA because my old N95 could but again the screen isnt VGA so it is wasted

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-10-28 19:12 from PEHUAll windows based mobiles are battery hungry. This is because even when you close applications they still run in the background.
To solve this when you close the program, go to task and kill the running tasks. For more information on how to do this contact me on ashisharya_2001@yahoo.com
This will increase your battery life.

To Nick:
Hello Nick, the phone is surely capable of playing DivX movies. It has had some ROM update, but I don't know which, since it isn't my phone. I can recommend the player made by DivX, I tried others but without success. I put on the phone a really high quality DVD rip movie and played it. Watching the high quality screen is a pure pleasure :-) Although SOMETIMES (only sometimes!) one can experience some lagging, but as I say, it is very watchable.
Now I am looking for the answers of the same question about Nokia 5800 and Samsung Omnia :-)

I am planning on getting this phone. But I was wondering if the problem with the battery life is because of the hardware running in the background on standby, like wireless / bluetooth etc....coz if so, the phone can be used for a longer time by turning them off i guess???
I like the look and features of the phone from reading about it but the feedback on the battery life makes me think otherwise.
Would appreciate some feedback on this.. thanks
