Judging by HTC's Australian site, Australia will be getting the 16 key keypad version and not the 20 key Qwerty-ish pad. would have preferred the 20 key version...
@turbo
if you want to upgrade your TyTN, get a TyTN II.
the Touch is NOT an upgrade from the old TyTN, mate! it is only an upgrade to the old Touch.
The keypad
HTC offers two options
a 20 key suretype
a standard keypad
UK operators are opting for the standard option
looking at this phone on Expansys it has a normal T9 keypad, but the description says qwerty keyboard. The enlarged pictured on this site does show a qwerty style keyboard on the slide out, but how do you know which you are buying? I'm actually more used to T9 but if i was writing an email i would use an on screen qwerty. Does anyone know the answer?
Still have the HTC TyTn, thinking about upgrading to this phone. Does anyone know the quality of the 2meg pix camera? The camera on the old TyTn was not very good, still2 meg but has the Touch Dual improved performance at all?
Comes in that nice dark red Nokia 6210's did

We want WIFI badly...I hate not being able to download at my home via WIFI...
That is 100% correct, you can not use your with your houses wirless router with this phone.
GSM and GPRS and 3G HSDPA only.
Hi
I know that it doesnt have WIFI, does that mean that you cant use it through wireless like i have in my house?
@Ismail: Because MicroSD Wifi is just vapourware. One company announced such a card one year ago, but the card is still not ready, and probably never will be, and can't be purchased anywhere in the world. Sorry :(
Good phone:)
This is to the "Touch..slow 200 mhz processor=dealbreaker..." person.
I currently own both the HTC Touch and O2 Life and I don't find that having the 620 MHz processor (on the O2) is "dramatically" different in speed. In fact, I find the HTC having a drop-down to close all application is much easier to free up memory rather than the "start, settings, memory...". About the "I will pay whatever..only if I get what I want!". I just find that everyone have different taste, so people can buy whatever they want. You are not the only rich person in this world unfortunately. :) p.s. heard the Jap version has WIFI
The reason why it came out without the WI-Fi is because wireless providers don't want you to have it! In essence, you can make an IP phone call without using your providers network, for network providers the killer application can be as deadly to them...
Why can't you just buy a WiFi card and slot in the SD slot to make the device WiFi enable????
Touch..slow 200 mhz processor=dealbreaker.
Touch Dual..no wifi= deal breaker.
HTC!! What are you doing?!! Great designs...not so good decisions upstairs. I want this phone but won't buy either because of those 2 dealbreakers. I travel alot and I need a good processor and wifi. End of story. I will pay whatever..only if I get what I want!
Can you make or receive a call on the Touch Dual without sliding the keypad out.
no Wifi? sucks! geez... i really want the HTC shift that's pretty cool
Wifi or not Wifi this model??
I got dude.
Why??? :-(
No WE FI why???
