UK buyers can get this on contract from Vodafone business website. Just say you are a sole-trader and they will sell to anyone.

I have had the TP2 since the day it was released and my hinge feels the same now as it did then. I only use the tilt a couple of times a day for watching videos though. It feels more natural to not tilt when texting.

> In reply to Matt @ 2009-07-13 22:00 from 3HMx - click to readI think it is better to wait for 2 to 3 years to know more about the tilting screen reliability. I do not use it much, but it is OK. It has some wobble, but that is normal to me, if you see any laptop you will have this wobble also.
Hope this helps.

I don't think many people have this phone yet. Not sure if it's been released in India yet. I know it is not readily available in the UK yet.. apart from Vodafone although they had no models in stock yet. Very new on the market. Still waiting to find out how strong the tilting hinge is as I have heard reports on youtube that it is very weak. Yet to hear different. It's going to be used on a daily basis for two to three years so needs to be up to the job. Only thing putting me off at the moment.

I've heard business users have issues with the new Iphone 3G - only one application can be open at a time - meaning if you get a call and you are in the middle of looking at email, your email will close down, same with GPS etc. Very good potential just a little restrictive at the moment.
Does anyone here own a Touch Pro 2? How strong do you find the tilting hinge - is it solid and robust? It's the only thing holding me back.

> In reply to Leili @ 2009-07-12 16:59 from prms - click to readAs I am always saying these are too different phones, HTC is meant for business and professional and power users, it is not for everyone. Iphone is for normal users who need more fun and gaming experience. You can have some fun also with HTC but not the same way as iphone. The iphone interface is much better than iphone. It depends on your style to choose. This is the second HTC phone after the original Pro.
Hope this helps.

I'd also be interested to know how strong the tilting hinge is? Has anyone had any problems with it - I mean does it look as though it can easily last two or three years of daily use? Some people have reported "gaps" too when it is closed, between the keyboard and the screen on top - is this common?

How strong is the tilting hinge? This is the only real thing putting me off buying this handset as the demo model I played with in the shop was so flimsy and loose (although it was just a demo and hundreds of people had handled it it did make me think twice about whether a new phone would eventually end up like this and then I read a few reviews and people had reported the hinge being a weak point) - other demo models of other makes with sliding keyboards were absolutely fine but not this one. How true is this? Any reported issues? Thank you for any help and info.
