PJOX, you are am avid supporter of TyTN II. It is commendable; every company loves a staunch supporter but let it not blind you to the limitations of the device. The Qualcomm processor cannot be that great because HTC could not successfully implement VGA res with 262144 colour palette. It is obvious that they feared that the machine would not run as smoothly so they sat on the fence and gave us the same lacklustre screen that cannot even handle bright sunligt! A quality processor would be able to smoothly handle VGA;262144 so this Qualcomm has not been challenged. Are you telling me that even in the next ten years we will still have this lousy type of screen??

T-Mobile UK are offering very good deals. The Vario III(t-mobile branded TyTN II ) is actually cheaper on an upgrade than the vario II!It's also substantially cheaper than inferior units like the e61 and n95.Quite how they managed it I do not know.

Do you guys get a thrill by giving out false information? We had someone telling us the TyTN II cpu wasn't good and the e90 was great.Maybe he didn't know HTC done away with the Samsung 400mhz chip and replaced the entire chipset with a qualcomm 7200 400mhz dual CPU with integrated imageon hardware 2D/3D graphics accelerator. This qualcomm chip is over EIGHT times faster at processing and TWENTY times faster at graphical drawing.Office mobile is very good-buy a wm6 device and enjoy or at least use google...

well I have now the AT&T 8925 for 24 hours and this what I think so far,
battery life is great despite missing with it all evening i still had 70 % left, I did blue tooth on, wi fi on and did so much internet browsing.
camera is just ok for still objects otherwise you have to ask people to stay still, it's slow.
amazing internet speed using edge network( 3g will be available in Nov) however when compared to my friend's Iphone he was having more fun with touch flow but slower than my 8925.
65 k color does not make worried. it's vibrant and excellent however I definitly had hard time outdoor in a sunny place. I could not see a thing.
excellent sliding mechanic, great materials.
size wise it did fit in jeans pocket but it was a burden after a while. it's heavy.
excellent blue tooth pairing with my car system.
great sterio sound.

Now that I've decided on the TyTN II. Does anyone know of any reliable retail/online stores that have good pricing for it? I know jandr offers anywhere from $100-$200 off for an upgrade/activation of phone service. Since I have TMobile the jandr rep said I would get the $100 upgrade discount.

I had been using a jasjar with it's fabulous LCD.Yes it's true HR screens are capable to show more information which is helpful when using a browser or working with office documents, excel for example but at the end of the day the TyTN II preforms extremely well,no lag no freeze ups, unlike the toshiba's etc.I think HTC were correct not to incorporate a VGA screen in this unit.

At first I thought that HTC were holding back but on deeper thought it is clear that HTC are sitting on the fence because they are uncertain whether they can attain smooth and reliable operation of the device if they implement VGA res and 262144 colour palette. The Qualcomm processor and the battery capacity would not be enough. Nevertheless Gigabyte, I-mate, Eten and Toshiba have all taken that step. The VGA res quest on 2.6-3.5 inch screen is laudable. Vivid VGA res inspires one to work harder because of the excellent visual feedback. Afterall we are human; we have emotions. We react to quality visual stimuli. HTC should not sit on the fence too long...they may fall off!!!

Oklahoma city. I called around and I got the same answer like you. however my friend is an authorized dealer for AT&T.
when I called the AT&T stores they told me yes they did receive them and already sold out. I suggest you go in person and find out for yourself.

well my friend at AT&T called me. they have my 8925 charging and ready in 2 hours. it's for $500 without contract. the nice thing about AT&T is the support in case of malfunction and the 30 days return policy. I will play with phone over the weekend and let you know.
