Same as the play, relative to its impressive running power and the , the battery is the wrong choice, users will have to be very precise with power settings to get through the day. No 3.5mm..just bugs me. People have been returning to 5.5 inch plus devices, in 2014 the demand in my shop was gone, but its coking back hard, and HTC had an early opportunity to capitilise..theyve only partially taken it for me,
MANU4EVER1, 11 Feb 2017Is there different variants for different regions with U Ultra?
I'm about to get one on Ebay ... moreit's not even March yet.
the only thing you could be getting now on eBay is scammed.
Is there different variants for different regions with U Ultra?
I'm about to get one on Ebay and just want to make sure I can
use it up here in Canada!
The mics setup on this phone sound impressive
battery is a reason to worry, high res screen powerful CPU but just 3000mah battery it's a pity, it will be good for around 5 hours screen on time
My options (so far) are HTC U Ultra, Samsung S8 Plus, LG G6.
I want a good camera so I will let DxOMark decide wich phone to buy...

you have seen pictures from the camera already?
you already know what the audio sounds like?
it's not water proof
over all the moblie going to failure...
bcaz main reason is there is no improvement in hardware and software.
NeonHD, 29 Jan 2017Okay so ditch all headphone jacks on headphones and replace them with USB type C male plugs, i... moreyes
planing was involved. this has bean in planning for years already.
that's why there is even hardware and software capable of doing it. i have even owned PC speakers in the past that connected via USB for power and to play the audio.
now with USB-C being smaller and reversible, it is going to make it even easier to market.
and once the move starts, it is not going to take 10 years if the younger generation of consumers are accepting of it. which most of them will be because what jack is used to connect headphones to a mobile device is just not that important to most people.
Anth0ny, 28 Jan 2017you just locked on the 3.5 jack aren't you? i'm not saying use an adapter. i am saying USB-... moreOkay so ditch all headphone jacks on headphones and replace them with USB type C male plugs, is that what you're trying to say? Now I'm currently agreeing with you, but it's a change that will take at least a decade to fulfill. Companies can't just say "Alright listen up, from now on we are removing the headphone jack on all devices", that is going to cause economic chaos. Radical changes like these need to be carefully planned.
that is not going to be accomplished by a headphones that only supports 2 channels. so the mic tech has dictated that the headphones must also advance. which means, ditching analog output for a digital input/output, just like what home audio did by moving away from the anolog jacks to HDMI and fiber optical.
This is not true.
Anthony is still same just different plug.
Still same stereo.
Nobody sends digital signal to headphones bcoz headphones need have DAC built in.
HDMI is more convinient then before video then rca. Later coaxial or fiber then scart or something.
But same to headphones or speakers on HIFI goes already decoded anolog.
Was problem on android to have external dac on otg. They done it. You can send 010001101000 to decode on external dac vide Fiio etc.
3d heaphones etc yeah good gimmick. Just effect any headphone can do if mix send to it.

more like careless and somewhat absentminded.
i'm not the only one like that. that's why there is a large majority that not going to care once they can get replacements easy.
like you i also ride (Trek road bike) and that is where i use bluetooth speakers so i don't block my ears from road traffic. or one side of a LG tone so i don't have a cord going from my handle bar to my head.

i'm not saying use an adapter.
i am saying USB-C headphones..... no adapter needed.
and you did make many of my points in your last 2 posts. "part of least resistance" most will use what comes in the box (which is USB-C)
as for the tablet vs parchment it's exactly what i'm thinking of as well. you have a phone with 4 mics to record directional sound so having headphones that could properly replay that directional sound just makes sense. that is not going to be accomplished by a headphones that only supports 2 channels. so the mic tech has dictated that the headphones must also advance. which means, ditching analog output for a digital input/output, just like what home audio did by moving away from the anolog jacks to HDMI and fiber optical.
Anth0ny, 27 Jan 2017don't get my wrong, I was never saying the audio quality on bluetooth was better.
I was say... moreMaybe you need sensory theraphy.
I can ride on mountain bike in rain rough and fast and still have same beats for this purpouse.
Or you clumsy or something. Lol
3.5 is across devices and is not going to die. Cant imagine usb c on mobile projector and cannot watch it bcoz plugged headphones and cannot charge.
Anth0ny, 24 Jan 2017I know you don't really believe that. Because if you did, you would never buy a upgraded phone... more"I wonder if the generation before me know they suppose to not like change and go back to using a rotary dial phone"
only true technological innovation is a valid and logical change. Why did early civilisations change from writing on clay tablets to writing on parchment paper, hm? Because it was logical to do so at the time; they needed to transport information at a far distance, and switching from a heavy medium to a light medium like paper made it far more efficient.
There is no validity and a sense of logicality in removing the headphone jack, unless they supply a second USB type C port.
I think my point has been made clear enough. Humans only conform to changes through logical and rational reasoning.
Anth0ny, 24 Jan 2017I know you don't really believe that. Because if you did, you would never buy a upgraded phone... more"I know you don't really believe that. Because if you did, you would never buy a upgraded phone or even upgrade software out of fear of change."
Oh that is something no consumer can control, do you know why? Because phone companies (both carrier and OEM) keep telling us that the next phone is "way better" than before, urging, tempting, and convincing consumers to buy newer phone models each and every year. This is the basic rule of marketing, to make consumers keep buying their products every year. In all honesty, if all marketing hype was removed, consumers would not even care about the question of "is my current phone good enough?" or "should I upgrade my phone?"
"Then I truly believe that the small fraction of people who bitching about it, only doing so because they feel the need to bitch about something."
It's an unnecessary change to any kind of consumer. Just ask anyone, would they rather plug in a headphone to a 3.5mm jack, or plug in a headphone into a dongle and then plug it into the USB port? I am 99% sure that anyone who is thinking logically that they will prefer plugging it into the 3.5mm jack. We always do stuff through the least path of resistance, not because we are lazy, because it is logical for one to do so.
