As far as I can tell the strip around the three edges of the phone is aluminium. It's very light but will be slippery in the hand as it has a semi rigid texture less back plate. It0s a mid-range phone but very elegant. Perhaps the sexiest in its class if you like minimalist designs. It's so elegant that putting it in a case seems like a crime. It would a great market opportunity for someone to design a new aftermarket backplate with a rubberised texture. Then you could put on a screen protector and use a sleeve type case. My needs are basic as all my heavy lifting is done on an iPad Mini Retina but this seems more than sprightly enough. My limited testing of 4G (google maps, satellite views) has been very positive. Realtime display - as you move around the area the pages just splash onto the screen with virtually no lag (I'm in the metropolitan area of Barcelona on an Orange network).
For 229 euros this phone hits the sweet spot for many. Call quality is great and I haven't seem any problems switching back and forth from one kind of network to another. In one week of use (fairly heavy as I've been trying things out) at the end of each day I was seeing 40% battery life left.
It's early days but I highly recommend this phone. I hear Huawei will release Kit Kat as an official upgrade too.
please tell me this phone is launch to Pakistan or not.plz reply
I've got one on order (black as opposed to the white I wanted). The price on Amazon was too good (229 euros vs 255 euros for the 3G version) but I think there's a mistake on Amazon Spain pricing. There seems to be some doubt on a couple of things. Some reviews say the band around the phone is faux metal and offers say its aluminum. Some say it has a rubberised finish but others say it is slippery in the hand. Case manufacturers largely aren't distinguishing between the 3G and the 4G version which is a pain as they have different depths.
i think this is the best phone in the market this time.this is same like i phone.m waiting for this one.
jobyjoe97, 08 May 2014Hi, if you go into EE its in there rebranded as the EE kestrel, it is only £99 on pay as... moreThe Kestrel is *almost* the same but has a lower resolution camera and seems slightly more cheaply built - for one thing, it's somehow 30g heavier, plus it has some bundled bloatware that's probably subsidising it. Most of the other features are the same, however. The ports are in weird positions too, don't know if that's shared between them.
