I have been a samsung user for many years, but a few weeks ago I brought the Huawei Mate 7. All I can say is what a great device. I was tossing up between the Mate 7 and P8 but the dealer told me for battery life the Mate 7 wins. So I have no regrets buying this device and would recommned it to anyone who wants a goos high end smart phone at a reasonable price
Hello everyone could you plz advise whether to get the mate 7 or p8 I am not happy with Samsung hardware unless I get something more expensive to match huwaei's build appreciate it
P8 vs mate 7 32 gb, 13 Oct 2015I want to know whats better p8 or mate 7 The best For games ?P8. There's barely anything in it. GPU is virtually the same as is the screen resolution but the clock speeds for the P8's processor is higher and that's all that really comes into it. The only thing that really comes into it is screen size VS pixel density after that.

I want to know whats better p8 or mate 7
The best For games ?
Love this phone. I'v been using HTC due to its consistency but due to affordability went for the Mate 7 instead of the HTC M9
So far, I'm impressed

John0087, 11 Oct 2015Hi guys can you help me please?
I want to upgrade from galaxy s2 but I'm still confused bet... moreIf you find yourself desiring a fingerprint sensor, significantly larger screen, or dual sim slots then get the Mate as all these features cannot be found on the Z2.
But if you prefer a higher build quality, more manageable screen size, and probably similar battery performance despite its much smaller battery then go with the Z2.
Hi guys can you help me please?
I want to upgrade from galaxy s2 but I'm still confused between mate
(16GB version) or Xperia z2
I want to buy a new one this week
Can I have a quick response?
Does the Huawei ascend mate 7 get updates of the latest androids in the next few years? Like as in mashmallow and the next android?
Successfully updated my Mate 7 to official Lollipop 5.5.1 manually. The new camera software is excellent. I do not think all countries will receive the OTA update to Lollipop so I have to download thpe software and manually install rather than wait for the OTA that will never come.
If anybody wants to update to Lollipop right away, go directly to Huawei's website and download the firmware suitable to your device.
For Mate 7 Amber Gold (3GB RAM, dual SIM, model MT7-TL10):
For Mate 7 Moonlight Silver/Obsidian Black (2GB RAM, single SIM, model MT7-L09)

Can I upgrade my Mate 7 to Lollipop using the package found on the Chinese support page which holds the version B351? or should I wait untill my phone promotes for the upgrade automatically ?!
By the way , when this upgrade will be broadcasted to all phones ? since I hesitate about the manual upgrade thing ... nothing guaranteed !
Disappointed MT7user, 08 Oct 2015WARNING: Do not upgrade your Mate 7 TL10 (Gold, 3G RAM, dual SIM) to OFFICIAL lollipop 5.1.1 (... moreFor those who upgraded to the OFFICIAL lollipop 5.1.1 (MT7-TL10_Firmware_C900B324_Android 5.1.1_EMUI 3.1) and regretted it because they can no longer set their dual sim phones to '4G LTE only' via Android's hidden 'advanced network settings' menu, here's how to go back to KitKat and regain this feature (which was disabled/locked by Huawei in Lollipop):
WARNING: BACKUP ALL IMPORTANT FILES BEFORE PERFORMING THIS OPERATION. ALL APPS, CONTACTS, MESSAGES, PHOTOS, VIDEOS, FILES, etc. ---EVERYTHING WILL BE ERASED. (Like buying a new phone.)
ALSO, these only work for those who have the TL10/Gold version of Mate 7 (3GB RAM, dual SIM), and running official Lollipop 5.1.1 (C900B324) EMUI 3.1:
REVERTING BACK TO KITKAT (FROM LOLLIPOP):
Download and Install 'Jazz-TL10 V100R001C900B308 Downgrade Package' from Huawei's Malaysia Website. (Copy 'UPDATE.APP' to 'dload' folder on your SD card, then do 'Local Upgrade'
After successfully installing downgrade patch in step 1, erase 'UPDATE.APP' in the 'dload' folder of your SD card and replace it with the 'UPDATE.APP' from the LATEST official 4.4.2 KitKat firmware [Huawei Mate 7 (MT7-TL10) Firmware V100R001C00B130_Android 4.4.2_EMUI 3.0], which can be downloaded from Huawei's Malaysia website.
Install the official KitKat firmware as in Step 1 (do 'Local Upgrade'). You will be able to access again Android's advanced 'hidden 'network settings' menu and now have the '4G LTE only' option back.
