I have this phone for three weeks now and I love using it. It is very fast with a good and clear 6 inch screen. My battery last for ever. The 4G network speed here in Hong Kong is phenomenal. I have measured downlink speeds sometimes in excess of 70 Mbit/s on 4G. I am not a professional photographer but I like the quality of the photos and videos I take. I can trade my stocks very fast using my phone. It does very well what I need and more. I just love using it. I wonder how the Mate 9 will be next year. If you need a fast phone, relatable with a solid battery at a sensible price then the Huawei Mate 8 is for you unless you are a brand sucker.
i bought the phone one week back, but phone's battery is draining out very quickly, and interestingly Android OS is consuming the most around 60% of power. (last 1.8 hrs.- 380mAh consumed)
any one facing this problem?
HM8, 23 Mar 2016Can anyone confirm if the external MicroSD can be infused as Internal Memory through the lates... moreHi,
See my previous comment. I couldn't get it to recognized the SD card as "internal storage". Atlhough the card works fine, it only is recognized as "portable".
Maybe it requires some sort of Firmware update from Huawei ???
I returned the phone after 4 days and bought Lenovo Vibe X3 is superior to Huawei mate 8.
Can anyone confirm if the external MicroSD can be infused as Internal Memory through the latest Android 6 Marshmallow? Thanks
David, 19 Mar 2016Rumor is not a fake. No one can shoot in low light with the phone, unable to focus. Everybody ... morethen everybody would be returning all the phones sold in the market. it is not like there is not a flash.
JPP, 21 Mar 2016Anyone been able to move/install APPs in the external SD Card ? I haven't th option in any APP... morenot all marshmallow features are supported on mate 8. huawei have to update the software just like what they did with google now on tap.
I am planning to get this phone mat be next week. I am done researching about its specs, prons and cons, and whatsoever negative and dislikes opinions about this phone. I dont care about the negative comments, Huawei is Huawei! Third largest phone company in the planet. good thing about huawei is you are paying the specs not the brand name. And if you are looking for a better camera just by canon or a nikon one ahahaha. If you are looking for an amoled screen buy a smartTV! Ok, We know that we cannot please all of you and we can accept the fact that mate 8 is not yet the best phone ever, But i can say Huawei mate 8 is a superb phone. Not number one but it is above average smart phone.

Also i though Android 6 was supossed to support SD cards to format them as "Internal Storage"...don't know about other phones, but i can only format it and make it the default location for data...but not use the card as "internal storage" or install/move APPs to the SD card. I have a Lexar 64 GB Lexar 64 gb uhi-s.
The card is recognized without problems.
I also downloaaded the extensive manual from Huawei site, and there's no mention about this.
