Dual active SIM worked great. Used one for work and one for private and only carried one phone. Had a few problems with phone turning itself off. Left and right margins of touch screen died 3 months after warranty.

I had this phone before, problem is the phone gets hot easily and sometimes reset automatically. This phone is excellent in features however due to power problem, this phone loses points. Reliability is a thumbs down. other than that a great phone to use.

Hello, does anyone know if the connection behind the grommet, bottom left of battery with cover off, is for a patch lead to an external antenna? If so what size plug is it?
Thanks
Syd

> In reply to jcp @ 2012-02-07 00:17 from 52{Y - click to readThanks for the advice on wlan and rebooting. I've the same experience, left wlan off and the rebooting stopped , for 2 days now. At under $150 from Allphones in Australia it's still remarkable value in my opinion (as a first time Android user).

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-03-09 02:00 from nx{K - click to readTo use a Data connection, you need to create an Access point (using the settings supplied from your carrier) - select Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > SIM 1 > GSM/UMTS Options > Access Point Names. The minimum information required is APN, username & password and set the APN type to Internet or Default.

This device supports 2 SIMs but only SIM1 supports 3G (WCDMA) so make sure your SIM is in SIM1 slot for a faster connection

Looking for help...

I have this phone in the UK - but I cannot make a data connection because it will not load the GPRS settings from the SIM card. I can't find any way of entering the details - which my carrier eventually supplied - manually.

Does anyone have any idea how this could be done?

> In reply to oztonyau @ 2012-02-16 14:23 from vFnV - click to readThere is no need to root it to use USB Tethering or as Wifi Hotspot. Bought a second hand one at an unbelievable price from a local store and it works fine. The only problem I face till now is the memory as large apps don't work. This includes Facebook app, G+, etc.

I bought the U8520 Deuce from allphones last year. It is far from perfect but works surprisingly well for such poor specs. It occasionally locks up and needs to be reset. The camera quality is poor and Huawei support is woeful!

Despite its faults, it does exactly as advertised, only 98% of the time. WiFi Hotspot is a great feature and does not need to be rooted first. The Android os is nice to use and the market has mostly everything I had on my previous iPhone.

Overall, I'm happy to continue using it until a high spec smartphone with dual sim arrivals on the market.
