> In reply to Cheema @ 2011-02-27 08:53 from PSCB - click to readCheema, you can search and download appz from the Android Market on the phone or using the Google Android website https://market.android.com/ but you do need a gmail account to download any app from the Market (I think ?? ).

As for the CD/PC software, Android phones dont come with any PC based software, when you plug in the USB cable to your PC you should only see a Mass Storage Device (ie a hard drive) like a USB pen drive, from there you can load music, pictures and data, just remember that Android will only really read mp3's and pictures. Also you could use the micro SD card that came with the phone but you will need to use the micro SD to normal size SD adaptor.Thats what's so great about Android, you can just load on music and pictures without going through any PC based software.

I would also recommend just doing a google search for something like "top 10 android apps", this will help you get a start on some good apps you need.

Matt

Hi Guys,

I just bought X5 today from 2 Degree shop in Auckland woth is $549. I am just checking all the features. It doesn't have FM radio. Rest of all features are quite good. Mobile doesn't look very solid body wise. But if your compare price then it's very good deal. Processing speed is quite good. I am just wondering they haven't give me any kind of CD/software to install on my PC. This is my first Andrioid phone, can you please guide where from i can download some apps and pc synch s/w. Your help will be appreated mate.

Cheers

You quoting the old Huawei ( 2 inches-plus screen and 3 megapixel camera...etc not the newly released x5 (3.8 inch screen and 5 megapiel camea....). The x5 is NOT available at Crazy John . It i advertised at Dick Smith in Australia but not yet available in any of its shops ( Distribution centre said it would be available within weeks)

But here you can also get it from an operator package and pay only 213 euro (which would be 288 Australian dollars). And (I assume) the price level is probably bit higher here so you can expect a bit lower prices in your country than the ones I provided.

Great phone , been using it for the past 3 months (got from Huawei ahead of release for type approving) only comments which applies to all the new phones : the Battery !! if you are a tech-savi person with a good data plan and actually use all the functionality and apps then your doomed ! this again applies to Nexsus, Samsung , Ericsson, HTC and any other phone that operates on Android .

Does anyone know how much this will cost in Australia, I've been to the Official australian huawei website and it says it will cost around $250 but when it goes through all the distributors and retailers it should cost around $350-$400 and is NOT what Huawei have said the price would be.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-01-12 10:58 from YTL2 - click to readI wouldnt be to concerned about this. I've used a demo X5 and the phone is FAST. Also the hardware of the X5 is superior to the Optimus and it costs less.

Most people don't care about running custom roms.

> In reply to Cheema @ 2011-02-18 10:07 from PSCB - click to readHey there,

I've had quite an extensive play around with this phone, and to be honest, it is probably the best phone on the market for its price.

I own a Galaxy i9000 and this phone feels almost as quick as the galaxy. The screen however is slightly smaller and the colours arent as vibrant, but this is to be expected seeing its almost half the price. The screen is capacitive though so its easy to use!

I brought one of these from 2 degrees New Zealand, unfortunately they did not have a demo unit and it appears there are two keys differences with the 2 degrees supplied model:
1) The internal SD is 2Gb NOT 4Gb
2) There is NO FM radio ....

Sorry, but that kills it for me .... @$550NZ to not have radio is crap.

Has all the key 6 features I have dreamt for in a social and business phone and would not compromise
1. Camera, 5mp, autofocus, led flash
2. 3.5 MM audio jack port
3. Document viewer
4. 32 GB Memory slot & USB microUSB v2.0.
5. GPRS, 3G HSDPA 14.4 Mbps & Bluetooth
6. Sleek design
I cant wait for it!! Any one knows it's expected price in Kenya
