Hello all,
I bought this amazing piece of machine last month and since then spending almost 23 hours a day with this phone, surfing and more net surfing. I bought this phone primarily since it does not have a camera and also radio(i hate radios). the quality of the phone is good, the querty keypad rocks, the touchscreen rolls, the functions are adequate and overall the MS office is the best one available in the market. its not a game or music phone if you are into flashing in public, this phone is not for you. BUY THIS PHONE IF YOU CAN HANDLE AN I-mate !!!!

As for bluetooth pairing.

For Windows Mobile based devices, turn on the two devices, use the JAQ to send anything. It will ask you for a key - use any number eg: 0000, then on the other phone it will ask you for the key for recieving, type in the same no on the other phone/device (eg 0000)

Once paired, you will not have to repeat the process again.

Confused? Email : talktoruid@gmail.com

@ Current price in India - Around 7500INR with bill and warranty. Search around as the phone is old now and you can get good discounts.

Call recording - nope but voice recording yes.

Deleting contacts - two options - Select all and delete (from the menu in contacts) or do a hard reset of the phone - it will set everything back to zero and you can start afresh.

GPRS - Works fine - you need to get the GPRS connection settings from MTNL (username password and connection IP's) Just say its a Windows Mobile Phone - name any that they have the settings for - all are the same)

General problems - add a 1GB SD for a lot of general improvements in stabily and likewise and use the memory card to store your stuff leaving main RAM free...

I bought mine September 2007. Had problems initially, mostly freezing but that was to low disk memory. Since I bought a 1Gb miniSD for storage that problem has been solved.

Now only problem is Network and call reception that usually missbehave once in a while where the phone keeps ringing though I try to answer it to no avail.

As for midlet manager problem, I tried to download a manager bt it ddnt work so I had to do a hard reset (after backing up everything I deemed important ofcourse)

Overall, its not a bad phone if you have patience

Hi,
Just bout JAQ yesterday after reviewing it for more than a month. Feels better and just right for the shirt pocket, don't feel because of it's light weight. NOw, how can I transfer my contacts from Nokia N72? Please help me..

By the way, the touchscreen rocks.

Service of i-mate is not to the mark. Be aware spares of the piece are not available easily & that too in India, usually its to be imported paying phenomenal cost. One fine day touch-screen of my piece cracked when it was switched for recharging, it has been 3 months - i'm trying to access i-mate customer care, but really no one cares. Phone is fantastic, but the touchscreen is sensitive to power supply and despite of 3/4 service centres in India, nobody really bothers to service the customers. Even the e-mails written to offices @ Dubai & Singapore are bouncing back. Presently the phone costs to Rs.8,000 plus something in India, but touch-screen costs Rs.5.000 plus ... you better take the decision what should be done - whether you should buy one or not buy one ... Best Luck ...
