The battery gets down and gets hot too fast. Is there anyways for a longer use of battery in a day??

my phone just went bizzerk and now its in arabic .. how do i change its language settings ?? can anyone help ???

I just want to share my experience, please do not under any curcunstance buy this phone. i was amazed to find out only 3 weeks after i bought it that the battery cover was glued. what kind of company sales glued phone for £400? and the worst bit is that they are not willing to solve customers problems. all they want is your money and that's all. please avoid buying this phone.what i learnt from this is better spend extra £50 or so and get a branded phone where you can atleast get refund or support.

Jarir will not help u, u need to visit one of the imate service centre depending where u are leaving in the kingdom. Mine was not recognizing memory cards and i got the mother board replaced thru free since it is still under WR. So I see no reason why yours should not be fix too. Good luck

I have bought one i-mate Ultimate 6150 in this January from a famous seller called Jarir Bookstore. Within three months from the date of purchase, this device is not recognising any SIM cards... i brought it to them and they were saying that its needed to be formated and reinstallation of software... after done such it was not working and was giving the same result. Although it was under warranty but the seller was refusing to do something or replace with another one, moreover they were saying that this in none of their problem and not recognising of SIM is not under warranty... my question to i-mate manufacturer is; SIM SLOT in not fixed as externally device that it will not be under warranty, if not then why i did purchase this expensive device for, to let my one month old baby to play with??? this is not a toy... i bouth it with three thousand Saudi Riyals... talk about the dealer here, they are the worst dealer i have ever found in the world... they dont treat byer humanly... their business strategy is like onetime business and use only... the i-mate user can't go on like this if the device is having many problems with... better to stop manufacturing and marketing this device in the world what is considered a great crime and cheat, please contact me back... my email address is (anis@alrehab-ksa.com) or call me to (+966 50 008 5489. every pocket pc have their own shortcomings. with regards to this ppc imate 8150, i have been using this for 3 months and it works just fine. here are what i have noticed:
CAMERA- the thing i love from this phone is the macro capability of the camera, however, the autolight adjustment is the problem. it doesn't adjust light in darker places. hence, you will be able to take a good clear picture in well lit places.

BATTERY- battery wen on standby mode runs up to a week! you won't believe it but i tested it! i added some advance configuration from xdadev and some adjustments to the power settings as well as unchecked the receive data in incoming. i even tried it playing mp3's and works just fine. but IN NORMAL USE, BATTERY RUNS 2 DAYS MAX, CALLING & TEXTING.

SPEED/CONNECTION- this phone runs fast. however, due to its high resolution screen. it automatically adjusts its speed when it should use more or not.i have tested 8150's Wifi and its fast, used it in browsing using "Oper@" browser (cant use d entire word) for ppc.

SCREEN- one of the best things i also like is the VGA SCREEN of this ppc! it has clear distinct sharp LCD for graphics.

APPLICATIONS- there are hundreds of useful applications for pocket pc! and few of those are medical dictionary, nursing books, browser and a lot more!

XGA OUT- on of the best feature this phone have and one to beat! try it yourself in a projector or LCD monitor.

THINGS I HATE-
1. long respond time every time i turn on the phone from its standby mode.
2. no update driver for the graphics processor. nvidia should have updated!
3. back cover lock if not taken care of easily peals of.

i have been using this 8150 for the past 2 months...no probs at all...even the battery issue is not coming up....just use the Stand-By mode always, so that the screen gets switched off and battery is saved...u wont believe it, but my 8150 ran without charging for 3 full days!!...it all depends on how much time u use it..only issue i found was that it hangs at times when no range is found...just hangs!!..cant press n activate any button..only solution that time is to remove the battery n restart it...sob..sob.. :((

I emailed imate technical support re ultimate 8150 upgrade to wm6.1, their reply stated that there is no upgrade. they didnt mention if there is in the future.

can we upgrade to 6.1 and when i try to make an account at imate.com they always say that your age is wrong even if i write 1960 to show i am over 18 , can u give me your id and password. i cant do much with it can i

Dear all i-mate user, especially the ultimate 8150 user.

I've bought this phone about 4 months ago in Indonesia, but now i've got a problem with the battery casing in the back. It won't closed good enough with the phone. After i examine the problem, it seems some of the glue that attached between the hook and the casing is peeling off. Then i started to put more glue again to make the hook and the casing attached again, but after 2 days, the glue started to peeling off again.
I've already contact the local dealer regarding the new battery casing, but they said they didn't have one.

Any suggestion?

i bet this fone will b great wen wud b wm6.1 .though iam so sad 4cancelling imate 5150. It looks more pretty desine wile its 2.8 screen n joystick is up dowN SCREEN nt between keypad.i wish 2b annouced once again wiv wm7 . 3inch screen smaller buttons n keypad as asus p750 wile joystick comes exactly n da center down screen so we can use it easy change between left n rite hand.it wud b better2come wiv 5mp cam at least .gps. 388 ram as experia or even f 512 ram 512 rom .800 prosessor as new hp or2b one giga. More battary life wile there is great bttry life4 some devices.wimax as n new htc. We need some more spicial applications from i mate exceeds htc hp asus n wateva up2date. Imate u can b da pioneer! N we need better n faster support from u.

Well I bought this machine in Dec 2007 with the hope that I will remain Imate user as since 5 years,
but its really hopeless machine, there are many problems but I am mentioning about main here,

1, Very low sound for bluetooth headset,
2, Poor battery life,
3, While the device is on it receives the miss calls sms from provider,
4, Some times it does not receives the call/sms and u know when the other party catch u with other medium,
5, the most danger is Sameer Kodak Support in KSA.

You are buying expensive machine and you will get no good support coz no Imate in KSA.

hey guys..any gulf users out here??...when i bought my set, i saw that there is a program of A-GPS in the list..is it GPS activated??..or u have to buy external device??
