Well from the Specs i can assure you that it is a great phone. in contrast to what is posted and as stated on i-mate website http://www.clubimate.com/ultim...t9150.htmthe phone is not cancelled but delayed and shall be coming to the market by Early 2008.
From my own perspective i would still wait to buy this phone as i am sure it would be great and would meet my expectations!!

Many of you cannot seem to understand the revolution. PDAs and smartphones are multimedia devices. If you call yourself "ultimate" and then place substandard camcording and stills photography you may as well not bother placing them in the device. Nobody is asking them to perform as well as dedicated equipment; but standards have to be adhered to. Business and pleasure go hand in hand. If you can't relax, you can't work. People want business and pleasure on the SAME device. The businessman will only get irritated when he pauses to relax and has to settle for lousy videos and stills when companies such as Nokia have proved time without number that you can have it all. I commend I-mate on the business side of the phone but the pleasurable side has to meet contemporary standards.

I am also a MAC ADDICT, and I am sad to see that the i-phone has NO 3G!!!! This phone has saved the day for me! Does anyone have any idea when it will be avilable to buy on the web or US?

What's with all the flimsy criticism. This is a phone or better yet a smart phone. Those that think it's not a smart phone should look up the meaning of smart phones. You can type and edit in Microsoft word, excel, office, view power point, get online using hot spots via the installed WiFi, blue tooth capability that supports A2DP, stylish touch screen (I still love my Motorola A780),use the phone on ANY network ALL over the world,Instant messaging features, VPN connectivity, the list goes on and on. I've also read the comments about the camera being below 3mp. Are you freaking kidding me... if you want a damn digital camera, then get one. The sole purpose of a phone is to make and receive PHONE calls. All the added features are for convenience and not a way to rate the quality of the hardware. i-mate has always produced quality hardware and their decision to pack this series with tremendous software is applaudable. This series can only be compared to Nokia's N-series and not the iphone as some of you have been doing (by the way, I'm a Mac fan so don't trip). I sincerely feel this phone is exactly what the name implies... THE ULTIMATE!!!!

I-mate are trying to compete as a convergence device. The company should realise that the minimum standard for high-end phones is 3MP. Why? Because this produces printable photos of reasonable standard. Secondly, the only phone video worth recording is VGA at 30fps. Yet again, i-mate is substandard. Why bother putting yesterdays technology on a today phone?? I'm going for Nokia's E90.

About comparing this ultimate imate with nokia, we're talking here about a PDA Vs Normal cell phone. am using imate kjam since 2 years, when i got a chance to deal with nokia i feel uncofortable, because of its so limited capability comparing to imate. and this is the powerful of the PDA, you can do anything you want easily. and about the camera, if someone want to take a good resolution pictures, he won't use a phone, he'll use a digital camera with better functionality that any phone.

I think I may have just found the right fone:)! I never liked PDA type phones because they looked akward, and now with the rapidly expanding coverage of Wi-Fi in my city I need to get a phone with wireless connectivity. As with many new users of products I am sceptical about early claims. A 1400amh battery? Unlikely.
Are i-Mates as easy to use as normal phones (I am using a Siemens now), with paticular reference to WM Pro 6, and in terms of actual phone performance... how does it rate to other smart devices?

Nokia N95 is better as a phone, but sometimes it's hard to pass on the superior hardware, like i-mate Ultimate series or the latest Eten models... :)
I wish one of these manufacturers released a phone with S60 instead of WM6 (Windows is still Windows, be it a mobile or not...)
On the other hand, i-mate will make this phone available in just about any form factor possible, so everyone can pick the one they like...
Now, if they just included GPS receiver, this would be the best PDA/phone out there... But hey, you can't have everything... :)

you cant compare imate with nokia because i have used both of them when it comes to reliability nokia is far better.people buy imate just to showoff that it has got touchscreen.where as nokia has got better cam, user friendly interface accesseries are easily available and imate keypads sucks.
