> In reply to Bobo @ 2013-06-19 10:26 from mEA6 - click to readIt it is provider locked its not going to show a single till you put the sim from the correct provider in it. Have you ever seen a provider locked phone before? A provider lock and a sim lock and a phone lock are all different things.
Sim lock needs a pin code to make calls
A phone lock needs code or pattern to unlock screen.
A provider lock just stops the sim from other providers from working. And is done by an alteration to the ROM.
a quad band phone works on all 4 bands at the same time. So thinking you are not getting a signal because it is on the wrong band is nonsense.
As for your registered # I have personally seen fake SIII that ID's come up as an SIII and official SII that get updates OTA and sync with kies ID come up as unknown.
If you were told the phone was Vodafone locked the first thing you do is test it with a Vodafone sim. And if you can't do that and your not techy. Take it into a cell repair store that charge a small fee to remove provider locks. The phone doesn't ask you to put in the code if you use the wrong sim. That defeats the point of a provider lock. They want you to use there sim, not put in a code and use any sim. So what makes you think a message to put it a code would come up when using the weong sim?

I was at the gsm service, but they told me the phone isn't locked at all... but I have no signal... Another problem is that when I verified the IMEI on a site.. it shows that my phone is Iphone 4s... :| that was weird. Can i get back my original IMEI?

> In reply to Bobo @ 2013-06-18 20:49 from mEAe - click to readif you search about on your phone you should be able to see stuff, apps etc relating to vodaphone. So if it is locked to vodaphone then all you need to do is call them or drop into a vodaphone store....and they will help unlock it. also you could go to internet settings. I think its under networks setting on sgs3. And then there should be a menu called access points. That also might give you an idea what network the sim is locked to.
personally i have never used my sgs3 as a phone to make calls with etc.. I use my other android phones, and also use them as a wifi hotspot for sgs3 at times.

> In reply to Bobo @ 2013-06-18 20:49 from mEAe - click to readIt's a quad band phone, so it works on any frequency your sim is using.
Your problem is you don't understand what it means when a person says a phone is locked to Vodafone Spain.
It means it could only be used to make calls using a Vodafone Spain sim on till you pay to get it unlocked.
It's possible to do the process your self but seeing you didn't even know what it meant for a phone to be provider locked, or what is quad band. it's better you pay a tec to unlock it for you because you may just brick the phone.

I have seen a lot of complaints about battery and update issues. However I have never had any issues with my s3 since I got it last year. It is a genuinely great phone!

Hi everyone, i have a big problem with my Galaxy S3... I bought it from someone that told me the phone is locked on Vodafone Spain. He fooled me because I can't use this phone with a sim card in it. Someone told me that it's using another radio frequency than ours(I am from Romania). Can someone help me to change the "radio frequency" so I can use my phone with a sim card in it? (When I insert a sim card the phone doesn't ask me for typing an unlock code... the phone contacts are displayed but I can make a phone call). Thank you in advance. (sorry for my bad English)
