Once 100%, turn on P2, connect to strong, stable and fast Wi-Fi, and you don't need to sign-in to Google account. Straight go to Settings > About phone > System update.
You will be getting series of OTAs. Just go all they way to Nougat firmware S233.
After OTA-ed to S233, hard reset.
Finally, you can use P2 with your Google account, if desired... P2 should be working flawlessly under Nougat S233 firmware...

AnonD-507839, 01 May 2017Should I go for it??? What are the Top 3 criteria in a smartphone important to you...? Camera...? Screen quality...? Audio...? VR...? GPS...?
I got P2 yesterday. There were absolutely no issues with mic or lip sync and everything was working perfectly on Marshmallow. The phone came with 83% battery out of the box. I was testing it out for half the day yesterday. Free RAM was around 1.6GB out of the box.
I updated to Nougat today morning by downloading the 2GB update. Free RAM was around 1.6GB here as well. The output from the speaker is around 10% lesser compared to marshmallow, but its negligible since the speaker is still quite loud. I am on wifi only and didn't turn on mobile data for more than 20 mins. Call clarity and connection is excellent. Was online on various apps for around 3 hours. No lags or frame drops in Asphalt 8 (medium graphics) and Temple Run 2 (high graphics).
One issue was I had to restart the phone when the apps I deleted on Nougat were still in the app tray as ghost icons. But after that there were no ghost icons when I deleted other apps. Throw away the pathetic earphone that comes with the box and use a good earphone. Sound quality is quite good. Camera is not so good for my taste at this price, but its average for most users who aren't into photography on their phones. There are a couple of cool settings to play with as well. The amoled display is awesome at this price and its a treat to watch videos on this.
I had put it on an 1.5 hr video on youtube and 2.5 hrs of movie to drain the battery at its highest brightness and highest sound levels. On Nougat, I have got a Screen-on-Time of exactly 6hrs hours with 28% battery drained right now (22% left). On Marshmallow, I had gotten a SOT of around 4hrs 30mins with 33% battery drain (but that was with Asphalt 8 gaming for half an hour). Will have to check the fast charging battery mode soon after draining the battery to 10%. But, I have to say I find RN4 slightly better for gaming performance, but that's just my preference. This phone is for my mom and I doubt if she has to even charge it once in 3 days or replace it for the next 2-3 years. Good buy at 15K. This is a beast of a phone no doubt and is worth the price. Buy the 3GB RAM version if you aren't into constant heavy gaming.
Should I go for it???
is the vulkan api introduced in the phone along with the nougat update..since snapdragon 625 is said to be compatible with the latest graphic api

Mom will barely take any pics while on trips and will never use the video recording option. She needs a good battery backup to get through the day in her office and listens to a lot of music through the speakers. I was thinking of getting RN4, but since I got dad RN4 last month and P2 price dropped to 15k I decided to get this for her yesterday. The phone is coming today and hence it will have no third party apps. If the phone build is satisfactory, I will update to S062 without replacing. What are the other issues on S062 btw?

Else, OTA to Nougat is encouraged because it solves most of S062 bugs especially the low audio recording. However, hard reset after Nougat OTA is unavoidable for most cases, depends on what 3rd party apps is in the P2 before Nougat OTA...
I have ordered a P2 for my mom. So should I update to Nougat or not? Seems like there's a lot of issues on Nougat on this device for many users here due to Lenovo's half-assed work on it. Is the slow charging a problem for many or its in just a few devices after the update?
for all users p2, if you do not need to upgrade your phone, then use only mellow. but if you have the need to upgrade then go ahead. but please follow the ways that have been posted by mr azhar75 in the post below .. and do not forget to restart your phone after following these steps
