One weird thing is, when we touch the area we want to focus before pressing the shutter release, the flash light goes on to focus....but the most important thing is, it makes an whirring noise like in digital cameras as if something is physically moving. The LG P 500, did not use to make that noise. I do not know that noise is just made by the speaker or a servo mechanism is moving the lens inside!!

Its an amazing phone w.r.t. the pricing. Have been using it for about a week now and I can tell you that except for the music playback, everything is amazing. Planning tobuy a better set of earphones to see if that improves the music quality.
The battery easily lasts for about 2 days with the following daily usage pattern:
1-1.5 hrs calls
2hrs games
wi-fi for 4hrs
gprs for 2 hrs
music 2-2.5 hrs
videos - 1 hr.

I am using a single SIM, its possible that using 2 would reduce the battery backup time significantly.
Overall I feel unless you are willing to pay for Galaxy Grand or more, this is the best buy among all Android phones

right, after update this phone p770 the soft key changed its function. To show the recent apss, now long press at the left key, and the cnter key changed be google card.
but i feel the gps dosn't work as good as samsung or sony.

then it will work properly...without data connection it will not work..and i don't know why is it so...???

nice and want to know about your GPS signal, is it fixing quickly after turing on or taking time to fix satelite.. also mine is getting heat using lil heavily or connected to GPS. how about yours..

with new version update, the other changes i did see in calander, the middle soft key changed to google cards and resent apps is changed to left soft key (long press)

hey all of u guys...good news...just update the phone to the recent firmware row 113...

usb otg function works like a charm now...connect any pen drive or flash drive..i have just updated today..

Hay dude,

I'm using this phone for two weeks and this is really good phone with jelly bean, good battery backup and other pros stated already..

Cons i have
1. Poor GPS signal, some time it takes 2 Hrs to fix GPS link..
2. Phone generate much heat when used extensively with apps and while using maps or navigation with GPS.
3. With phone earpiece speaker, getting a scratchy noice in full volume.

beside the above con's i like this phone very much!!

Got firmware upgrade "P770_ROW_S113_130424" with 401MB size.. Just downloading now and hope to see some improvements.. Dudes, pls let me know the changes/improvements in new firmware..

the phone is good in all aspect

the new firmware upgrade for the usb on the go function have no effect on the phone previous otg function.

problem,

the phone is not detecting external flash drives or pen drives connected to the phone using otg cable.
but on removing the cable it shows the pop up menu for external drive removal. the phone home screen appears.

the external mounting function on the storage on setting menu also remain not accessible for disk mounting

i thought the new firmware upgrade will fix it but it don't done the purpose.

the other devices like mouse keyboard work like a charm can we connect printer via usb and take print out

please clarify my doubt on otg pen drive and ex printer connection and detection.

the details are also discussed in gsm arena page for this mobile they do report the same problem......


sorry for yesterdays mail the issue is due to pen drive firmware compatibility with phone otg firmware i tested three pen drives and in it pny and scandisk cruzer micro not supported but scandisk blade worked like a charm. so the reverse compatibility issue of the phone firm ware with pen drive firm ware must be fixed.

This phone was excellent in every option they have provided. Except the earphones. Its better to throw them for scrap. I want to buy new earphones but I didn't find which will suits for this mobile. Ofcourse it has a 3.5mm Jack, but it doesn't suports the Samsung earphones which is having a 3.5mm pin. So anyone please tell me, the best earphones for this mobile.

BT what's your version?If you not comfotable with the steps like flash ,my recommendation is not to mix up the firmware regions.

Is there anyway to control the audio profiles? The standard meeting profile does not silence message sent audio notification nor vibrate on calls. Is there a way to control individual parameters - ring tone /vibration / email notification / sms notification / alarm in different profile with default program?
Had a 401mb OTA firmware upgrade. No difference obvious after the update.
Audio volume through speakers is not loud. So people with decreased hearing ability need to avoid this phone.

Pros

1.Price - You can't get a Dual core 1GB ram IPS display of international brand at this price
- Also the display clarity is also very good.
(with this phone Galaxy Grand is a NOT choice to be considered!!!)

2.Ofcourse the battery !!
3.LED notification for Missed call and SMS - which is very handy
4.Software like schedules Power on/off ,Battery saving software etc are usefull to optimize the standby timings.


Cons
1.Bit on bulky and heavier side
2.Only 1 button to wake the device
3.Completeness of Android porting - Doesn't affect the general users ,but affects advaned users and programmers!!
4.Development community is less leading to the lack of different flavours of ROM and firmwares

But if you are using World version of the firmware,Google Play is already installed.
