No fault in this tablet
I just started running mine, and can't believe how slow it is when downloading apps from Google Play! My WiFi connection is pretty fast and downloading on my old HTC phone is lightning fast. Any ideas how I can boost this?

It is inconvenient to use it without cover.lenovo or accessory manufacturers should have marketed it along with the tab. Battery is also not up to mark.
Hi frndz, anyone who got it already tried to put it in jeans pocket coz I don't want to use bag to carry it..
I know it's odd but just want to use it phone cum tab and carry it in easy way just like that.
I know it's too big for pockets but am dawn tired to waiting for pice like that and expect battery this model is food especially front dual speakers so want it to buy it
I have had it now for some time, and i posted here earlier saying it was a nice upgrade to my 2012 nexus 7 1st. generation..SORRY. I was wrong..The battery life on the S8 is so bad, I can hardly use it. Postings about low battery life here are correct. And i cannot see a fix for it coming. Back to the old nexus tab..:(
Hello can anyone tell me how much does your tablets battery life last on continuesly playing video or games? My lenovo tab s8-50LC only last 3 hours and it shows that almost all the baterry used is from the screen. Oh and screen is always set on medium brightness. Is there something wrong with my tablet or is it normal?

Nikhil sharma , 28 Dec 2014Hi nikhil I have used nexus 7 2013 and is it's battery can last for one and a half day on mo... moreIts because of its screen. Its very power hungry and inefficient. In my battery stats the screen takes up 64%, Android OS+System 9% and remaining apps 27%. So you can see its not because of any software so you can't alter its battery life in anyway until and unless you replace the screen!

Anonymous, 25 Dec 2014Hey should i buy this TAB? Because it fits mt requirements but after i read the comments, I'm ... moreIf you can wait 3-4 months then better. Because many manufacturers like Samsung, Asus etc. have not refreshed their Tablet lineup yet. The Xiaomi MiPad 2 and Nokia N1 could be released in that time frame also. By that time you can get a better idea about the tablets by reading reviews.
If you want a Tablet right now then this Tab is a good value for what you pay. So go ahead.
With Non-Removable battery you are stuck with what the default battery offers. You cannot swap them. There aren't any Tabs with removable battery as far as I know.
I have downloaded and read the repair manual from Lenovo website for this Tablet. The battery replacement is fairly easy can be done at home also. So in case the battery fails you can easily fix it.

its 4G/LTE doest not support Indian bands...any buyer had tested it yet ???? Kindly comment....
AKKI-INDIA, 23 Dec 2014Thanks Nik for clarifying the doubts.Btw,Did you notice it takes longer to get fully charged?A... moreMine takes no less than 3 hours to charge from 15% to 95%. To fully charge it takes around 3.5 hours. This is with the included 1.5A charger, it will take longer with other mobile chargers (1A to 1.3A) and even longer with a USB connection to a PC (500mA).
If you are buying a new charger I would suggest you to go with 1.5A or upward charger. 2A will be faster but may hurt the battery in the long run. If you are happy with the Tab then keep it otherwise return it. I would have taken the refund for the charger and kept the tablet.
I am getting 6-7 hours of battery life with:
3 hours of browsing on Wifi at 40% brightness
2 hours of night reading at minimum (0%) brightness
2 hours of apps/games and video at 40% brightness
Standby is good very little discharge at night.
I keep the Tablet in Aeroplane Mode and GPS off (Location Off) and use them only when necessary.
If you are continuously connected to the Mobile Network through SIM and use Cellular Data then expect even worse battery life.
I am mostly using it indoors so if you are using it outdoors expect around 4-5 hours with high brightness.
I am disappointed with the screen. Its Yellow! No matter how high you keep the brightness it still has a yellowish cast. I would prefer cold (blueish) colours any day over this yellowish cast if the screen cannot replicate neutral colour temperature. Lenovo please fix this screen, make it blue if not neutral or give us modes like Yoga Series with software update, make using this tablet less miserable.
Also has anyone had any luck with Screen Protectors and Cases for this Tablet in India? I can't seem to find any. The ones which are available are priced so high! I am not going to pay as much as a Class 10 16GB MicroSD Card for a single piece of plastic. It doesn't even cost that much to manufacture, total ripoff! Cases are all Generic in variety. They are bulky with ugly contraptions to keep the Tablet in place.

Could anyone suggest a good cover for the lenovo s8 tab? I prefer a rubberized cover, but anything is fine
Anand, 22 Dec 2014Hi, Comparing Lenovo S8 and Dell Venue 8 which one is preferable in your perspective ? The Lenovo Tab S8 obviously. It has better Processor/GPU, more RAM, is more Slim, Compact and Lightweight, is more Stylish, has better Cameras and almost the same battery capacity (4290mAH vs 4550mAH of Dell Venue 8 3000)
