The Canadian version sold by Telus is nichknamed "Shine Plus" and the current version in May 2011 is "LG C710h". The colour is not black, it is silver. As of May 15, the price is $299.99 Cdn. I have been wondering whether the processor is the 7227 (as you have stated in your database) or 7627, which is being used in some similar products "LG Axis" [Alltel EV-DO] and "LG Arena" [US Cellular EV-DO]? The specifications that I have from "Android System Information" is:
Processor "ARMv6-compatible processor rev 5 (v6l or V6I -- not sure)
Implementer "0x41", architecture "6TE", variant "0x1", part "0xb36", revision "5"
Hardware: "ALOHA Global board
(LGE C710)
Revision 0
Frequency range 122.88 to 600.0 MHz
Can anyone confirm the CPU?
The current firmware supplied is "Android 2.1-update1". I have not checked for further updates yet because I understand that it is best not to update until after the phone is "unlocked" (if you intend to unlock it).

had chance to try this phone for a few days.. It's spectacular.. Think the best QWERTY-keyboard pad I've ever used.. It seems LG is doing big steps.. Great camera software and Android 2.1 works just great.. Only thing i miss, AMOLED-/Multitouch on this Display..

Since I'm very new to Android (haven't used before) I did research for two month all the phones I could find with this OS. I wanted to find best deal between looks, specs and usability (for my purposes). Nevertheless cost is important too. At this point I have made a punchline that this is the phone for me. My requirements where - it has to have capacitive touchscreen, resolution at least 320X480 px, qwerty keyboard, gps, and some more features I don't want to explain now. But.. there's always but :( It is available in US for now. Rumors say that it could be released in Europe, but rumors are rumors. I do really hope that this phone will be released for UK's market. Thumbs up guys!
