I have android 4.0.4. Installation take me a day.

1. Install a new ROM to get flashboot (KDZ UPDATER)
2. install clockworkmode recovery
3. install a zip file from sd card (zip file IcecreamSwift on xda developers

Then after rooting install "SwiftDroid_v2.0_RC4_fastboot"
Fast as! Running lovely on my GT540 @ 825MHz.m
I love this phone.

For those who have problems with sound please get this. It pumps up the bass and the overall feel of the audio output 10********** in my opinion.

great starter-smartphone for kids. its cheap in stores by now, i bought four for the original price of one, sold the two of them, slightly overpriced, and gave one to my youngest (8yrs), and the last one we gave away as a birthday present.

Shitty for music unless at a high volume/impedance; shittily-shielded soundcard.

The 3" screen's a bit too small to draw on, but it works for the most part. The phone doesn't easily detect the edges of the touchscreen when it's being pressed on.

The hardware buttons Call/Home/End are becoming a bit shitty; requires pressing a bit more even after it 'click's before it responds.

Rooting was easy once I found the correct thing to use.
SuperOneClick + ratc worked on the stock 2.1-update1 ROM.

Anyway, don't get this one unless you have to, in my opinion.
But hey, at least it runs Android.

Face is, have this crap phone over estimating it. Ohh loooookkkk at my gt540 I upgraded this piece of trash to android 4.0.4! It hogs all my memory and CPU cycles! Look it's 256MB DDR ram is faster than the One X's Dual Channel 1GB DDR2 ram!
Since I upgraded my dying optimus gt540 to ICS, the 600MHz ARM11 single processor is faster than a 1.5GHz QuaD core A9 Tegra 3!!
The hideously slow adreno 200 is faster than the Tegra 3 ULV GeForce!
