took care of the creaking problem. take the piece of plastic wrap that the battery comes in fold it 4 times untill small enough and place it on the battery then put the cover on. place it more towards where its creaking and it takes care of the problem. or you can use paper too. did it for me.

I've got this phone myself, using it for a few weeks now - it lasts generally almost 8 days when being recharged. I don't think you guys read the instructions well about recharging.

1) The first time you've recharged, make sure the battery is totally low, and then recharge again (otherwise you'll lose 30% of te battery capacity)

2) repeat this for each recharge, otherwise you'll lose like 0,5% each time.

@Nikki - Sounds like you have a dodgy firmware. My battery lasts me about 4 days.

As to the message alerts you can set it to ring periodically and it will then chime every few minutes until the message is read.

Oh and to quickly send a text message press the right key next to the scroll (not the soft key but the raised one) and you get the shortcuts menu. The first item in there is New text message. So just two button clicks to write a message.

Hi, i'v had this phone 4just over a week now in the uk, i was ruled by samsungs b4 but nothing is new there right now. the lg is generaly good, liking the whole metal effect, and defintley the whole mirror idea- 4 the girls. few negative 4 those of you who are thinking of gettin it 1) metal scratches so easily! and as i said only had it a week and its scratched so much already n i do take care of my phones. dread to think wat it will be like at 18months 2) only 1 alarm to be set (so no back ups for accidently turning them off):S with 10 very very annoying tunes2choose from (which u realy dont want to wake u up with - an annoyin start to the day ;))- u cant change from these 10 or have mp3's etc. 3)same with message tones. only 4 to chose from, no option of using your own. 4)the stupid backlight on the phone wont randomly stop flashin all the time, i have tried everything to stop it - from turning of the backlight (but thn u cant text or use it in the dark) to changin brightness etc, but still it does this whole random flashin of the backlight - pretty annoyin when u r tryin to sleep! help if ne1 knows how to stop it! or is this why it is called the shine? 5) not the loudest phone either especially with 4example - texts etc as you dont have any options of how often they alert you. its just the once it beeps. 6) camera quality is pretty good but has an automatic focus on it - so when you are tryin to catch something moving - u have no chance of takin it with out it bein blurred! but i think you can turn this off, still its a standard setting. 7) only option with menu colour is black with white writing. u cant change it. a bit boring really! 8)weak battery - wont even hold 4 a day - n that without listeing to music/camera. and a few postives 4u - the scroll middle button is cool when you get used to it, really easy for using predictive text with it too. it does have an expandable memory, thank god! n a gud extra is u can view documents like powerpoint and word documents on it. :) enjoy it i think its quite classy!

Great Phone,

Just got it this morning.
It comes with 50 MB internal memory
I put in a 1GB card. First put it in the phone, then in my cardreader. Put all the MP3's in the MUSIC folder and it works perfect.
The handsfree function is not so loud, but it works @ the office.

My micro (or is it mini) sd card works fine. Yor music should go in th eMP3 folder which is in the Sounds folder and then they appear in the MP3 playlist.

This phone has two bugs I am aware of. One stupid and one occasional.

The occasional bug is that sometimes, after you have turned it off, you have take the battery out to turn it back on.

More serious is the fact that if you delete a ringtone from the MP3 playlist it will not work as a ringtone. You can play it and it is still on the phone but when assigned as a ringtone the phone will use one of the alarm melodies instead.

Right, i have a 2Gb card in my shine, and have filled it with songs. Problem i have, how do you get them into the MP3 player part of the phone. i can listen to individual songs by going into 'my stuff', but surely i should be able to play an album without having to press next on the phone at the end of every song?????

HELP!!

IT's good looking on the front, but the back is very ugly once you slide up the top half. You can see all the rails and it doesn't look as seamless as phones like the W850 in which you can't see the slider rails.

Otherwise, the camera isn't really that good, and I prefer Sony Ericsson menus to the LG ones. The screen is bright and clear and the build quality is OK.

Anyone tried using a MicroSD in the Shine yet? Put one full of mp3's in the slot (eventually - the manual tells you to put it in the wrong way up), which it recognises but thinks it is blank. Strange, works in the SLVR, any ideas?

Anyone else with one of these phones confirm this bug I have found? I am on my second Shine. If you delete a ringtone from the MP3 playlist and have it selected as a ringtone the phone will not play it when you get a call. Instead you get one of the alarm tunes. Also if you get a call from someone with an assigned ringtone and then from someone without an assigned ringtone it uses the ringtone assigned to the previous caller.
