So the simple fact it has two clocks on the standby screen makes the entire phone crap? Grow up.
@lloyd williams - I actually got my Shine from CPW the day it came out and my ringtones are loud enough. Not as loud as the new Sony W880 but that phones unbelievably loud for something so slim.
@Rian - That is a known bug in the Shine.

i work for the carphone warehouse and just noticed how quiet the ringtones are on the shine. Is this a general problem or is it just our batch of handsets?

thanks zakiwashi...
I still really like this phone. I just experienced the mp3 album selection... that is so weird that you cannot select another folder to play your mp3's... i hope they come up with an upgrade for this..

to jellyandcream: if you go into settings-call-answer mode and set any key answer you will be able to use the external camera button to answer a call. still you will need to open the slide to end it, unless the person at the other end ends the call. and the mp3 player is a bag'o'shine! you cannot store albums as directories or the mp3 player will not recogise them. you can, however, browse these directories in the browser and play songs from your albums singularly, but you will have to skip to the next track when the previous one finishes.
have to say though, love the bluetooth streaming stereo function. works a treat with my motorola ht820's!

The two clocks thing is stupid but there is nothing you can do about it unfortunately. As LG has told me they are working on the ringtones in mp3 playlist problem I am hoping a new firmware will be out soon.

Tk0x, I totally agree with you. 8800 is nothing compared to this Shine, I bought my Shine mid Feb, and still loving it, unlike some other phones I get bored very easily, eg) my previous SE K610i.

Somebody earlier pointed out that this phone is simply 'the poor mans 8800'. This is a comment I totally disagree with. The fact is that the 8800 is an overated, over expensive phone. I certainly DO have the money to buy a Nokia 8800, and could quite comfortably afford to buy one, but I would not buy one out of principle, in the same way that I would not pay £10 per month for a bank account just to have a golden coloured card. It is very shallow i'm afraid.
I have just bought a Shine and think it's a super phone. Great value for money, and stands out (alot more that the shabby 8800).
I should also point out that having worked in the mobile phone industry for 5 years now, I gauged peoples reactions during the release of both the 8800 and the Sirroco. To people who know very little about phones, the premium Nokia range was little more that an overated phone inside a metal shell. The Shine is in fact very different (regardless of price, and I have seen people who know nothing about mobile phones warm to the LG Shine design instantly. This did not happen with the 8800.

b4 you connect to comp, you also have to go to your connectivity screen and select USB connection. then select mass storage. That will let your phone auto connect to your comp. and when you want to sync, you have to select back data service

Plug the cable into your phone and connect it to the computer. The computer will recognise it as a flash drive and install the drivers. Once installed the phone will appear as two drives in My Computer. One drive is the phone the other is for the phones memory card. Open the phone drive up and put your music into the Sounds folder.

Ok I withdraw my comment about the sirocco not being a true slider but it's definately a posers phone. No flash for the camera, no auto focus, no memory card slot. And boy does it collect fingerprints.

Why are Nokia fan boys so stupid? This is nothing like the Sirocco (Nokia 8800) and is not meant to be. This is a true sliding phone where as the Sirocco is just a sliding cover. The shine has a higher screen resolution (240x320 as opposed to 208x208) and the shine has a better quality camera.
In my opinion the Sirocco is just a posers phone with average features.
