For people having trouble without USB cable.
1. Buy a SD card reader to fit in your USB port of computer. Better to buy one with a micro SD adaptor to fit into it OR just buy a SD card reader that comes with multiple ports. Search Sandisk ones on internet.
2. Buy Micro SD card to put in your phone, maximum of 2GB (external memory port next to your SIM card).
3. Format your card in your phone, you should see a folder called External Memory with Image, Video, Sound and Other folders.
4. Hook up your SD reader and micro SD card together to see it on your computer screen. You can drag photos into the Images folder, MP3s into the Sounds folder, and WMA files into Others - like CD tracks for example.
5. Put the Micro SD back in your phone and it everything is there. Transfering using the USB reader instead of a USB cable might be annoying but you'll get used to it!
Also, I have had problems with the 2GB, sometimes it says 'Memory read error' but I just make sure I insert the card correctly and click the external memory metal support bit into position.

Shitty phone, why? => it "suports" java, jet it is impossible (realy, I tryed evry way an yes i used j2me) to install any kind of java based aplication. jet the manual clearly states it is possible! also calling people is not an option, the mic is of sutch bad quality so that no one can understand you. exanging data with your pc (kalendar, appointment,...) slould be possible yet again its not! an other thing i dont like: you can ongly personalise one profile. the camera and fm radio are the good things about this phone

Its a good phone overall but the only thing I dont like is that the MP3 player cannot be minimised.

i just got my phone and bought transcend 2gb memory card but it does'nt seen to be working in the phone but works in others. WOT AN I DOING WRONGE

i have bought this 2 months ago & thanks got i have got no problem in it i have got usb cable my mp3 & midi working very well the only thing i cant get that how to copy a game on it other than that i have got no probs i love this phone

Hi anyone looking for a usb cable go to memory bites and you will get one for £4.00 the number is lg8110. Can anyone answer this question i downloaded a song from hmv but it will not play it skips to the next one. Still not sure if i like this phone. it's not very lud.

You obviously have no clue what are you talking about... can't use/send MP3s other than in MP3 player... what a nonsense. Just link it to your Mac through a bluetooth and you can transfer from and to this phone whatever you like. Every single MP3 format can be assigned as your ring tone.
First check your facts and then post things...
This phone is amazing for its price and it does a lot more than many even a lot more expensive phones on the marked. LG makes super phones and none of them ever gave me any single problem while shitty Motorola, almost every one I had in the past gave me so many software problems it was unbelievable (freezings, crashings etc)

in this set the songs copy to it's card to use an other phone and open in lg kg 290, this set will not open the song. but if the song copy by blutooth that will be open. i don't like this option (copy to card but not support the mobile)

I think this phone must be thrown in the rubbish bin. my is 1 month old, always freez, cant hear good, and my security code""" the phone dont want to take it. i am sick cause i bought it for work related issues. help me out guys. where can i get help cause lg told me to go to a shop. there tell no is 0861 54 54 54. Im am really angry, why did i not look before i bought.

I have a question about every one who puked on this cell phone. What the f... are you talking about? Did you even try to look it up on the net before you bought it> How can you say such things about the phone. It;s a cheap phone. It shouldn't be sophisticated or top in performance.

From the inception of cellular phones this is the worst one i've come across. it has no memory and i can't seem to copy anything from it's external memory. the phone freeze up can't answer or make calls. Keeps telling me there are no space for text messages whe my inbox is empty. can someone pleas tell me what to do?

my kg290 went over 4 times 4 fixing bt no fault found n was checked by 3 technical repaires bt still not so tel me wen u play music vids on yr fone does it disorts in a way in which u can hear da music cz wen i bought dis fone it wasn't like dis only after it went 4 the first repair it started like does any1 kw wat 2 do to fix it help needed
