Is anyone else having trouble with adding photos from a pc? It adds files to the camera, but when I try to set them as wallpaper, it doesn't seem to recognise the jpg's, and saving them as gif's makes them too big.
Cheers
Jeff

More about PC Sync v. Mass Storage
Using the device for mass storage by plugging in the data cable will change the display to indicate that it connected to the computer.
However, to PC Sync - modem mode needs to be activated first before connecting the cable. The display does not change or indicate by an icon that it is modem mode.
You will see LG USB as a Com Port option in the pc sync sofware (and this option is not available if modem is not activated first.)

Bought the phone 2 days ago and have to get it changed. There is something wrong with the data connection port on the phone.
After inserting the cable into the phone for a connection to a Windows 2000 machine, the phone will briefly connect before automatically disconnecting itself as though cable is pulled out without stopping the device in W2K. Have tried connecting it to three different W2K machines and same problem exists. Therefore impossible to sync the phone with bundled LG software.
Also, synching the phone with the LG software requires the phone to be put into a 'modem' mode before connecting the data cable. Activation of this mode is done via menu seleciton, however, an icon denoting this modem mode is not shown after activating this feature.
The software has generally has some other limitations, when compared to other brands:
-inability to use the music player and view the other functions of the phone at the same time, e.g. calender, phone settings, inbox, etc.
-it's not possible to create different playlists. Music files are stored in a specific folder and the player will play all the files in the folder or it can be set to repeat one track.
-contacts in the phonebook can be assigned a home, mobile and work number against a corresponding icon, e.g. house, phone etc. However, viewing last dialled calls these icons are not displayed against the numbers dialled - only a mobilephone symbol is shown; therefore it is not immediately apparent the type of number for each dialled contact name without looking at the displayed phone number.
-it is not possible to add a dialled number to an existing saved contact, but it is possible to create a new phonebook entry, i.e. contact, from a dialled number.
-using the 'restore default settings' option doesn't actually restore all the settings to default.
Overall, an ok phone. Definitely not perfect and there's room for improvement to make it even better. Probably the most appealling feature is its physical design. Software, not so great.

I saw this phone at CERF in Romania...it's absolutely superb. It looks like it's from the future. The screen is very good and the photos look very good also on the screen.
I want to buy it especially for the design.

Got this phone yesterday, and all seemed fine, although when i went to change the name of my bluetooth device from the default of LG KG800, my fone crashed, althouth when i restarted it, the name was changed. Also i think there may be a fault with the bluetooth itself, as it does not stay on when u activate it, it just comes up 'bluetooth off', and also will not discover any devices which i no are in range. Anyone got any ideas????

Thanks a lot for your help, it is sorted out now; you must activate the modem indeed. It wasn't done by default and it was not clearly mentioned into the menual (just a little paragraph p82).
Do not forget to activate the COM port in "option" when you start LG Sync, then press "Read" for the phone.
It should work...

Actually, I am facing exactly the same problems with my KG800 ; I don't manage to make the PC Sync worko, I can only use the USB cable to transfer files but that's all !
Does someone know how to sort this out, because it is very disappointing ?
Thanks a lot

Loadspeaker - if you mean speaker phone then no, this phone doesn't have it.
Message tones - You can change the message tone but you can only select the ones available on the phone by default.
PC Sync - For those of you having problems with getting the software to connect to the phone, ensure you have enabled MODEM mode before connecting it to your PC. Otherwise the phone'll go to mass storage device mode.
For the person that can connect their phone but can't transfer contacts have a look at the centre of the application screen, you should see two arrows. Click on the arrow that points to the right and it should transfer all ticked contacts to your phone.

Somebody posted as "dumb Phiduong" needs some serious research before posting crap.
I couldn't find anything wrong in "Phiduong's" earlier post. Yes in Korea it has 512mb memory and card slot and 320x240 screen. Its LG who released the GSM version with 128mb, no card slot and smaller screen in Europe.Maybe they have a strategy to bring another model later on.
Those who have bought it, how much did you paid? Thesedays with contract you pay a little or nothing, regardless of the screensize/memory or anything.
And If the factory unlocked costs you £270 then there are phones out there in the same price range with card slot, coz you have buy memory card separately. Peace.

Took the phone back to the shop; it was a faulty phone, I can now change the ringtones without any problem! Thanks for your help, though!

I've read about the charger problem and it only seems to have affected a small batch of phones. Take it back to the shop and get a new charger. The phone should not switch off when the charger is plugged in. Mine is fine.
About changing ringtones, check to see if your contacts have been assigned caller groups as i believe you can assign each caller group a unique ringtone. This will override any ringtone you select in your Profile. If you want to keep your caller groups and you want to use just 1 ringtone then you will have to go through each caller group and change the ringtone to the one you want to use. Hope this helps!
