wow. NO memory card slot, NO speakerphone, 1.3mp camera? weak EDGE? extremely horrible battery life? tri-band? what a pathetic effort on LG's behalf at mimicking RAZR.

for the same price you can now get the motorola KRZR K1. 2mp camera, microSD slot, excellent speakerphone, class 12 EDGE, quadband world roaming and a battery with 6 hours talk time (tested myself).

nice to see moto for once topping the koreans instead of the other way around. : )

damn, i really want to get this phone, just like i did with the chocolate. the features are somewhat dissapointing though, my old phone has a 1.3mp camera (SE S700i), and seeing as the 3mp sets are coming on to the market now, do I really want to have the same camera again? Im on the fence with this phone, SonyEricsson and Samsung offer similar phones to the "chocolate" style phones, with higher specs and lower prices...though the design on the LG phones keeps me from coming back...

Does this phone have a built-in hands free speaker? Should I go for this or SE Z710?

less features then my old SE K700i ... and crapper battery life then my even older Nokia 3310... looks like a winner we have on our hands here.. late 2006 !!

LG should maybe stick to making appliances... or fire some of those female desingers ?

Features may not satisfy those gadget lovers, but i think these days cellphones should be evaluated on how unique and stylish they are-since most of the phones pretty much have similar functions...
Cameras.. 1.3 or 2... i don't think it really matters cuz everyone has digital cameras nowadays, it's not like anyone's going to take a picture of Grand Canyon with his cellphone...
810 looks great~ easy to use,
last but not least amazingly stylish...

i guess this was made after the slider chocolate so i dont know why no memery card slot or even a speaker phone, the camera stays at 1.3mp where as lg do 2 mp camera phones this could of been a great improvement on the chocolate but it isnt.

It's OK, but the battery life is always the problem for LG. Please LG release 1000 mAh battery for this beautiful device.

IMHO, it is a very stylish phone. However, like the KG800, thats all there is to it. I think that around this time, if a cellphone were to only have a 1.3MP camera then it should at least support video conferencing. Too bad though, if LG had released both the KG800 and KG810 at the time 1.3MP was as good as a cellphone's camera gets, then I'd actually acknowledge them as very good phones. For a cellphone of these specs to be released at this day of time it is very sub-standard.

to bill,

How come you know the downsides of this phone? Do you have it or do you actualy used it? or maybe you are only comparing this phone to lg's old model phones.

Gosh! take a break, please be true on your post. I had a old lg phone and UI is as good as any other major manufacturer and the alarm tones can be customized with downloaded sounds except with the sms tone.

I was very close to buying the KG800 but a few things put me off which will likely remain the same for the 810.

Firstly, the design is drop dead gorgeous. And in Malaysia the 800 came with a very nice package. 2 batteries, desktop charger, screen protector etc.

However, the downside to the phone is its features. In this day and age, for a phone lacking in basic functions like speakerphone and assignable ringtones for alarm and sms is pretty much a given. Unfortunately this phone didn't have any of those.

I think it really depends on what you want in a phone. I do not mind that the camera isn't great but I do emphasize having a speakerphone and I love to wake up in the morning to some good music.

Someone from Brazil mentioned this phone is going for 500USD, which comes up to about 2k in Malaysia. That is very pricey. I could get the 800 for 1.2k and I doubt the 810 will cost 2k in Malaysia. Just look at its functions.

My quest for a new phone continues ...
