For all people with ICS problem, Go to XDA Developers's Optimus 2x forum - Andoid Developement. Download and install the ParanoidAndroid Rom as per the instructions in the forum and live in peace.

Need to root it before.

You should get your hands on cyanogenmod for this phone. Even the nightly versions of CM10.1 are much better then Stock ICS! http://www.cyanogenmod.org/devices/lg-o2x and http://changelog.bbqdroid.org/.../cm10.1/next

those of you having problems after upgrading to ics and having problems. you should back up you data with titanium back up and then format the cash via clockwork mod recovery. this will solve all the problems.i know from experience..if you dont format it,you will have conflicts from the old os system and the new...

After update ICS, I have experienced only two problems:
1. Battery life became much worse.
2. When I plug in charger while the phone is locked, it suddenly sometimes freezes(need to put out battery).

Also I dont have problems that people described below, except for battery life.
(sorry for my bad english)

I updated my P990 with official ICS, it became quite slow. It shut down atleast once in a day & we have to pull out battery & reinsert the same to start the phone. I visited many times in service centre but did not get resolution.battery backup is major issue with this phone.

no more lg phones.after i upgrade my phone to ice cream my phone has many problems.and i dont see any update in the future uless the company suprises us.. and still dont see it.go for other company..

P990 ICS stock (no root).

With no volume (volume totally down), multimedia volume 0, cam & video was silent (100% sure), no shutter sound.

Now, for some unknown reason, shutter sound is always there.

I'm sure the P990 phones home (to LG-owned servers) and auto-updates things without permission.

Yes, I know I can delete the shutter WAV / OGG file, but my P990 is not rooted, and I don't want to root it.

When i updated to ICS, the phone started shutting off or restarting regularly. I 've done hard reset, I' ve also went for a service but the problem kept going on. I know that there are many other users who faced the same problem even with android 2.3... No solution yet.

I have been using this phone from 1.5 years or so> the Gingerbread on this phone is bit slow but when i installed the custom rom with kowalski kernel i bet this phone is 1 of the best phones the only prob is the battery life
But over all its a very nice phone if u root n update it to jelly bean :)

My 2x became slow after updating to ICS. Pls lg look towards this problem in the next update.

But you can use a custom rom like CyanogenMod or ParanoidAndroid to get JB on your LG 2X. I have installed it a few months ago and it works fantastic! (except the video-recording function, but they promised to fix it, so stay tuned about this -g-)

lg company should inform the mobile owners if they can expect jelly bean update or not..lg is allways behind from other companies consern to updates and repeats that with the new models..thats why me and i imagine many owners of lg mobile phones will look other choices in the future.

I have had this phone for about a year, maybe a bit more. It is the worst phone I have ever had. The specs look great, but LG has taken a significant amount of ram and given it to the gpu, which serves no purpose and is not at all necessary. It is dead slow. I have just purchase a different phone to replace this piece of crap. My wife has the same problems with hers, and has just purchased a new phone as well. LG garbage. They like to cheap out. I will never buy LG crap again.
