I thought this would be my next phone, but the LG Speed/2x has some serious problems with build quality (light leaks, dust under screen, scratches) and software (battery, reception, crashes) - I don't think it'll be better with the 3D, they're just not ready for the highend market yet.

Maybe the next batch of phones.

> In reply to Carphone Jeff @ 2011-03-27 13:33 from M3s@ - click to readactually in evo 3d only the clock is a little more and it can be much more (like in msm8660 1.5 G) and o3d can also be over clocked to those numbers, but those numbers won't make any different in real life when you have enough preforming power in both for loading data in a blinking and for available games to be played but what is important is universal decoding u got on OMAP4 and less power consuming that is going to make difference

Yes Clark I think I will wait for a few models of 3D at the moment and I am sure 3D by then will be almost perfect

> In reply to Carphone Jeff @ 2011-03-27 13:33 from M3s@ - click to readthe htc 3d has a faster dual core single channel single mem processor while the lg has dual core dual channel dual mem hence why the optimus out performs it on the benchmark

> In reply to mech0r @ 2011-03-23 22:54 from Is9u - click to readthe processor in this phone is dual-core AND dual-channel, which means that each processor has its own internal memory to work with, as opposed to the tegra which can only work with one

The real competitor of this handset would be HTC evo 3D. The key difference is that LG Optimpus 3D has 8 gb internal memeory whereas HTC evo 3D only has 1 GB internal memory. However, HTC evo 3D has a faster CPU. Both handsets can expand memory by inserting the micro SD card, so the size of internal memory would not make much difference. I personally would prefer HTC evo 3D instead.

Many thanks
Jeff

After making us wait soooo long for this to get released. Like the HTC Evo 3D, it had better ship with Gingerbread (v2.3) instead of the originally specified Froyo (Android OS v2.2)!

dual core, dual channel, dual memory. it means 512MBx2=1024mb ram or 256MBx2=512mb ram? i'm confused.
and omap44x soc's supported USB OTG, this device will support OTG?
features of omap4430 is:
http://focus.ti.com/general/do...tentId=53243
omap4430 Imaging Performance 20 MP main camera, 5MP stereo(dual camera).

question is:
in 3d we will take pictures 5mp, ok.
in 2d? same?

Most PowerVR SGX 540 designs run the GPU core at up to 200MHz. Exynos' implementation is another 50% faster. LG's software build also uses a newer version of Imagination Technologies' driver (1.6 instead of 1.5) which fixes some rendering issues and improves performance considerably (likely between 10 - 30% in GLBenchmark2)."

Exynos is the Orion Mali chip though? It is confusing! Should i use the OMAP testing on virtual specs ran at 300MHz or making a comparison to the Exynos?? ANy idea people?
