I had Android 2.3.4. I saw on LG's site that I can upgrade to their official Android 4.0.4. I just installed LG Support Tool and click, next, click, next, very easy setup... In 10 minutes, I had Android 4.0.4 ICS on my LG P970 - pretty impressive :) Everything was working sweet, except my hard keys / hardware buttons which were / are very unresponsive... Later I've read that ICS doesn't support anymore hard keys / hardware buttons... But LG forgot to tell me that :) And this is their official ICS, no custom ROM which could brick my phone... Ok, I've said... Let's try to install Button Saviour - but, oh, wait, it doesn't work because my mobile phone isn't root / rooted :( I tried Factory Reset, battery out, SIM and Micro SD out, but all for nothing. I don't use any strange apps, just the basic ones and all verified from Google Play. I like keeping my phone very simple... Now, is there any solution out there? Anyway, I will try to go to a private store and ask the guys to install a custom ROM, maybe Android Jelly Bean. I won't do it at home - takes time and I patience and I don't have them these days :) But, LG sucks. I'll never a phone from them anymore ! I will try a Windows Phone in the future. I'm sick of Android, too. Maybe an Ubuntu mobile phone, Linux has been always great...

frndz this phone is very good i use it since 1 year.it works very well and it is also better from galaxy grand it is upgradable to 4.0.4. but one limitation of thi
s phone is that,it is not revaluable if you had a business of sel n purchase of mobile then dont bought it.if you r a regular user than it is a good phone i i reccomend you

Hey!! I been using Optimus Black for the past one year,.
I today received a SMS from "AD-ARWSVC" saying..
" Namaste! New Android software version 4.2.2 for your LG Device is here! Please upgrade for better data experience at www.lg.com (data charges apply)"
Had any of u got this? Is this true..
May be the jelly bean 4.2.2 may satisfy all our needs.

friends using this phone for almost 4 months and it hav been visiting 4th time in service centre for hardware issue, as my opinion dont choose this mobile, its jst waste of money.

i m currently using this phone from 7 months ....upgraded from Android 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 ICS official..and now it lags like hell....so i downgraded again to V20S official...using smart flash tool.
And after a week or so i Found the Best thing on planet for this phone ...it CYNOGENMOD 10 ....which means basically like u r using Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
but way more faster and cooler....i lovein it !

This is the Best phone available with almost all options and affordable price. Battery power is lasting one and half days with an average of 10-15 calls per day as per my experience. The most interesting thing is LG has released Android 4.0.4 ICS upgrade in INDIA. I did the upgrade and now my phone is pretty faster. with new features. Love this phone. using this since 2011 OCT. very good phone.

You can add the touch focus feature in the camera because after you update this device to ICS, it also updated some features on the camera, including the touch focus, which isn't available in both Froyo and Gingerbread.

It sets the proper APN settings for mobile network automatically, in just one click.
Download it from Google Play; Make sure you have WiFi connected before launching it; Run the program, it will adjust your settings automatically. Worked to fix my connection woes.
