there is a huge lack of help with this phone; i find the accompanying booklet to be sparse in details.
Consequently, the phone can be, at times, quite difficult to use. However, once you learn the basics it becomes considerably easier to manage.
One problem I have noticed is in the MP3 menu, the phone becomes significantly slower, and can this can prove to be quite irritating if you have a large number of songs.
Also, the camera quality is apalling for such a new and expensive phone. I was disappointed with this. The sound, too, is also very muffled, and the quality is only improved when using the headphones supplied.

I've had this phone for over 2 months, and the only problem I have is that when I input contacts into the adressbook, a few days later some contacts have disappeared. It's starting to frustrate me. Has anyone else experienced this?

i got my lg phone from 3 and have used it for two days now, it was an upgrade. just remember if you have a upgrade you use your same sim card which means your cant take advantage of the new sim with i think they say as 1 gb of memorey, plus no card slot with this phone! music player not anything near as good as the nokia 6280.if you just want the phone for looks 10/10

How many people have ever seen a FASHION phone with all the features they wanted on it?
I know I sure haven't, fashion will always bring compromises.
This phone is a nice phone and I would say better than alot of other 3G phones that have come our way.
It won't be to everyones taste so whats the point about whining that it doesnt have radio multi plex dolby or bluetooth version 5.37 million??
Looks nice, works fine, nicer than the u880.

hi just wondering if it really has stereo sound, and if so, does it sound loud when the phone rings. Is there more than one phone theme and what colour lights up on the keypads.
thanks cobra.

No MicroSD card slot = crap handset from LG.

My u880 is awesome and i was looking at also getting the u830 from 3 but after reading the specs and having a test run at the local 3 shop I won't be getting the u830 to compliment by u880.

Other than no MicroSD card slot, its a very nice handset with easy to use menu interface (very similar to the u880) the fixed cam is way much better than the swivel u880 1.3MP cam and also the u830 has a VGA cam for Video Calls which bring it in line with the other fixed cam handsets.

If LG revise there thinking and build it with a MicroSD card slot then they will have a major winning handset in the market but typical LG ...

Oh well the u880 continues in service and works great with the temporary unlock to use it with Vodafone 3G/GPRS :-)

They made beautiful phone with poor battery. No wonder, they never pass samsung market for their GSM phones.

no card slot, no EDGE support, "up to 2hrs talk time" (which means about a half hour in real life), bluetooth 1.1. LG always drops the ball, this handset is pathetic yet many of you are gullible enough to fall for chocolate design so this phone is rated highly.

i also bet that the HSDPA is only like 1.8mbps.

meanwhile you could go with the comparably priced Motorola RAZR maxx. 50mb internal with microSD card slot, 3.6mbps HSDPA, EDGE Class 10, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo and a better keypad. looks better in my opinion.

there is no comparison.

You need to get in touch with 3 if you only got one battery. Mine came from 3 with 2 - the standard & the extended.

I just got this phone on 3, so I can tell you it only comes with one battery and it's the slimline one. Great phone but the camera "flash" is useless.
